As for bringing him back to life, he could have i mean Doomsday Clock showed he had a LOT of power but he didn't bring him back or transported him to another dimension like he did to the Comedian, he is pretty much dead and his "legacy" was passed on to another character who took up the mask, not as crazy mind you but damaged nonetheless.

This film is an underrated masterpiece. Had it come out 10 years later it would be regarded as one of the greatest comic book films of all time, but the world just wasn’t ready for it when it came out. It did the whole “superheroes aren’t as good as you think” thing way before The Boys did. Jackie Earle Haley’s performance as Rorschach was incredible, he was the best part of the film. Couldn’t imagine anyone else in that role. This is Zack Snyder’s magnum opus imo, his unique style of directing was perfectly suited to adapt the world of Watchmen.

He had a good eye for Watchmen but not Justice League imo because he wanted to exploit the same “deconstruction” theme for them as Alan Moore did Watchmen. This is why his Batman kills and uses guns, Superman is edgy, etc.

IMO Zack Snyder is a modern day Tony Scott or a Michael Mann. In the sense of being a visual storyteller above anything else. I will never forget the scene where the US Military Police fires upon the hippie protesters in Watchmen. The first time me and my brother watched it as teenagers, we both got chills
