MJ is still, without question, the GOATiest GOAT of all the GOATs.
@jimmulcahey9312Ай бұрын
@@jonq8714 I agree that there isn’t a single basketball skill that Lebron is even close to MJ in. Lebron plays one way and that is the Lebron system which is good for padding his stats but terrible for his teammates unless they are spot up shooters. He is incapable of playing off-ball and only passes to his open teammates when he gets in trouble. MJ played in the triangle which requires intelligent decisions which Lebron is not capable of making. The other thing people bring up is rebounds. MJ was a shooting guard while Lebron is a forward. Rebounding is one of the responsibilities of a forward and not one of a 2guard. Anyway I do disagree with Jordan being the GOAT. You can’t compare different positions in different eras with different rules. First different positions had different responsibilities. It would be almost impossible to compare a center to a point guard or a shooting guard. As far as different rules in different eras go MJ would have been called for palming or carrying if he played when Wilt played. Lebron would be called for traveling and carrying in any era but now and an offensive foul on almost every possession if he played in Wilt’s era. Shaq would have been called for offensive fouls in earlier eras. Not only that but what metric do you use? If you go by championships, you have to give it to Russell. I know that he lost 1 time in the finals but he was there double the times MJ has and has 5 more rings than MJ. If you go by records then it would have to be the record book himself, Wilt Chamberlain. You can’t go with awards like Finals MVP or other stats or awards that didn’t exist when people like Russell played because then you are penalizing players for something that wasn’t even possible because it didn’t exist. Anyway Lebron doesn’t even belong in the conversation. He has been one of more athletically gifted players in league history but as far as skills go, he has not progressed since his second season and there have been many players that were more skilled than him.

I never hear anyone talk about maybe the scariest thought of all: If Jordan could constantly carry the ball on the dribble and take 5 steps to the basket like they can now, can you even imagine how unguardable he’d be in this era? He may have gotten away with a carry or two in his day, and maybe a slipped pivot foot now and again, but they get away with absolute murder on ball handling now. It’s truly embarrassing.

Hey Uncut, for me he has to get past Shaq before he's even in my top 10. He's nowhere near Jordan territory. Jordan at 39-40 in 2003 will have better mid range shooting in a super harder defensive era

@uncuthoops Yes, no doubt, and I would argue that Karl Malone and Stockton were as productive at same age. Stockton was still on the MVP ballot at age 39. LeBron hasn't been on it since 2022

MJ played on a terrible team, with barely any talent. Only reason they were around .500 was because of him. MJ today would have joined a super team and won a title at 39 and 40. The fact he did not and chose a bad team, shows how insanely committed he was to being the best.

Thank you Uncut Hoops! You showed exactly what I was thinking!!! The 40s years old MJ playing the 82 games and how he played the game… You also showed what LBJ is doing waiting in the 3 pts line for the ball trying to get a 3 point shot… and most importantly, NO DEFENSE, no move, walking the court, or complaining…etc… … Just waiting for an essy and open layout…. ESPN shows what they want to show to make LBJ looks better than the real GOAT… “0” objective comparison…. So, Big Thank You!!!

When Lebron Retires your next phase will complain about the future NBA stars next or something about defense your channel will slowly start to fall off , everyone will see what im talking about this isnt my channel not any of my business but you need to figure out what your gonna do after lebron retires because your gonna figure out exactly why espn milks lebron just like you do VIEWERSHIP. its not just lebron clock thats ticking not even just lebron. quit being negative about the NBA and to the oldheads i like watching alot of scoring you guys liked alot of defense but your time is over let us have ours.

MJ played all 82 games his final year, at the same age of 39. Which is insane considering the year before he only played 60 games w a rib injury, and the year before that he had been retired for THREE YEARS! LeBron is trying to match the 82 game mark but he’s obviously burned out. He’s still tryna catch things MJ has done in 15 years 💀
