The funny part is Lebron is putting in half effort on some of the cuts and screens, but it doesn't matter. He still attracts attention and he can conserve a bit of energy. Pretty smart to let all the younger guys run around at full speed and let Lebron either initiate the pass or slower cuts.

The biggest part about JJ’s offensive scheme is his real actions are hidden behind multiple decoy actions. Defense, especially when team plays lakers the past few years, are used to defending one action per play (AD pick n roll), at most 2 actions (plus iso). But now JJ is running 2-3 plays before the real play, and every plays he run involves almost all 5 players. Such multiple actions creates huge confusions to the defense. This is going to generate huge success in the regular season. In the playoff where teams have more time to prepare, it’s hard to say. But for regular seasons it is definitely posed to success.

The passing is increased but so has the variety of passers. Gabe Vincent, already a good passer, is passing to AD rather than take a contested three. AD is the hub of the offense when Lebron is resting, something everyone has wanted for years and Ham couldn't make happen. When we're not just chucking threes and hoping AD will get a rebound it's already a different offense. 8:14 - I love to see this. JJ is still one of the guys. Yes, he's the coach. Yes, he's going to make tough decisions. But at the end of the day, JJ Redick is still a teammate who loves the game.

Bud using KD as the focal point of the late game offensive sets look like a no brainer but remember last year he was standing near the corner as secondary options with DB / BB operating up top!! Lakers fans are still absolutely brain dead sometimes. Austin reaves is arguably our second best player right now and you’ll still see, either idiots or trolls, saying he should be traded. Probably not so much now, I’m sure the absolute bricks that ever had that opinion are trying to get away from it as fast as possible to not look like bigger idiots than they are. LeBron is coasting, and you have to be weary of it. The biggest goal for the Lakers is to win games without LeBron exerting energy. Not only will it pay off later on in the season, when you need that quick scoring run, LeBron is still dominant enough to do it in spurts. LeBron has basically become a “break glass if necessary” player. Be on the lookout for the Lakers who are still without Vando, the best defensive player on the team, and Wood who can provide valuable time for AD to rest. Look for the Lakers to trade for a 3 and D player and a bruising big, come trade deadline; a move that can catapult them above the rest of the teams, higher than they are already are.
