It is a travel. You're correct, he made a hop step which means he can choose his pivot foot. After the hop step he chose his left foot to be his pivot as he moves his right closer to the basket. At this point he cannot move his left foot unless he is jumping for a pass or jumping for the shot. Instead, he takes another step forward by moving his left foot AND THEN HE JUMPS. Travel sir gg.
