Well said Jovan and I agree with your assessment of each athlete. People are of course going to be impatient as well as over scrutinize and be overly judgemental with all Summer League team members, but especially Dalton Knecht and Bronny James. This without placing much thought into the fact that the team has had just one week to practice together and the fact that both Dalton and Bronny are brand new to the N.B.A. As you said and as other casters who watched the game have also stated there is plenty to be positive about after this first Summer League game. All who played have the potential to become great players in the N.B.A and all of which showed flashes of brilliance in different areas and aspects of the game. Which was exciting. I'm also excited about the Lakers new ideal of farming their young talent from within and placing emphasis on in-house player development. To me this is a great new direction to head in to sustain a strong team who all stick together in L.A for years to come. This instead of what they have been doing over the past decade+ of trading away athletes and coaches each year and bringing in new and often older talent who may or may not fit within the roster and which also makes for a challenging season and a rough Playoff run. I hope that Lakers management continues to place much emphasis on this new path which will really serve us well in the post LeBron and A.D eras.💪

Blake Hinson with his sturdy build, slow feet and terrific shot, is a Carmelo lite upside-which is terrific. Quite a signing! If he can drop 10-15 lbs (hard, since he’s thickly built-not fat), and works on his quickness to where he can hold up defensively, then he’s a rotation guy!

While I'll agree that LBJ taking slightly less is a good gesture for the Lakers, let's not go overboard. It is also a good move for him. Second, his minor pay cut doesn't even cover Junior's contract or his taking up a roster spot that is needed for a player that will actually play and contribute.

Love this channel. One of the best Lakers/Basketball channels. Do you think any of the 2way or other players in League deserve one of the 15 spots on a real full contract, over Reddish, JHS Wood or Hayes (assuming there would be a salary/roster dump? Im thinking most of Castleton and Lewis, but potentially even Hinson? Ive been wanting to see more Castleton over Hayes/Wood this last season. Hoping Lakers get a true physical defensive backup center, so withCastleton they'd replace Hayes/Wood.

Appreciate you! So Lewis has a spot. He’s on the regular roster. I think it’s too early to tell, but I’d look at Hinson. LA doesn’t have a big forward who can shoot like him (Knecht is more of a wing). So if Hinson keeps this up, I can see him potentially getting a serious look

I would do it, personally. There is risk, of course. He’s slipped on both ends. Not as good defending PnRs as he used to be. Still a really good shot-blocker and rim-protector. But 7-footers that can shoot an above-average % on above-average volume on 3s + protect the rim are rare. You also don’t need to rely on him as much as Milwaukee does. Could start him and play him 22-24 min. If it’s just, say, Rui, JHS + 1st (maybe even lotto-protected), I’d do it.

Every rookie will go through an NBA rookie learning curve. No one is exempt from that. It's definitely not exclusive to Bronny James. Throughout NBA history, that holds true. Even generational talents like Lebron James will go through a rookie learning curve. It might not be as noticeable or exaggerated, but it still exists. Kobe Bryant went through it. So, to have an exaggerated expectation for Bronny James, to come out and be excellent or bust, would be ridiculously insane. He will be fine and settle in once he gets more reps and shakes off the nerves and anxiety. Once he gets into the flow and starts seeing shots go in...he will be great.

Lebron & AD (2 Vets) Olympics will have a major impact on this season. Pelinka number 1 target should be a high utility scorer that can win you games when AD and/or Bron is out some nights (Grant, Lavine, Kuzma). Then fill in the roster with high end role players (AR, DLo, Vando, Rui, Gabe, Christie). There’s a space where both can happen if Lakers make calculated moves. 🤔🤔 The fact that Lakers looking for a 3rd scoring option signals that AR isn’t the answer correct…..? If AR was Lakers 3rd scoring option then Lakers would only be looking for trades to enhance spots 4-8 not Lavine, Grant, Kuzma or Cam. Interesting!

Now they have Derozan? Perimeter scoring punch and athleticism is night and day between these 2 teams. If you don't have an elite pg or sg in the West you aren't going any where. Lakers have neither and they also can't rebound the ball. 2 huge issues that m.l.e. isn't solving.

That said, I think there are several other teams that are worse than the Lakers but match up better with the Kings, if that makes sense. It’s all a big game of rock-paper-scissors. I just think in a vacuum, Lakers have the fifth-best team. They have two top 12, if not top 10 guys. That gives them an advantage in comparison to the other West teams

Salary Dump Bronny!
@sparkybuchta87172 ай бұрын
Ummm. No. Lebaby just took 101m for 2 years - Umm 2M “pay cut”. They gave him 100 frikin million - yeah.. he’s so generous dude - it doesn’t matter they drafted Jr at 55. That’s a hard pick to get anybody anyway. The 7.9m. Just may handcuff LA for a couple years for a low level spot - They need to worry about finding more players … nobody seems to want to come to the “5th best team” circus. 🎪. 3rd best in the west ?? De Nile is not just a river in Egypt dude

Give me a break..If LeBron was serious about winning, the Lakers would not drafted Bronny...5th is the west is not good enough..🤨🤨🤨

So WHO would you want them to pick at 55 😂 chillax the 55th pick can be anyone you act like it would make a difference

Who would they have drafted

Yeah, it's usually that 55th pick who's crucial for winning. 😏🙄🤣 Haters are lost in this universe.

Man please 🙄. At this point the Lakers are a side show circus 🎪 act. The Lakers would be better off trading Lebron James and Bronny James for Brittney Griner and Caitlin Clark. This is horrible times for die hard Laker fans. Why is Rob Stinka still around? Oh yea he's probably getting some HAWK TUAH action from Jeanie B. She gotta be spitting on that thang! This is the only reason why Mr R Stinka is still there 🙄. These Lakers are doomed 😳.

If you feel that way, departure from this space continues to be an option. Clippers are getting a new arena, padnah... you can remain an "L.A." Fan, and stop whining about the Lakers. Make that move.

Haters seem to think the more they hate their lives will be better. But it's opposite to that actually.

what is this bullcrap title? he didn't take a pay cut at all. If he actually cared about getting a ring, he would have taken a pay cut. 2 million pay cut, get the f out of here.
@vesnam1162 ай бұрын
Haters so frustrated. 🤣🤣🤣 If haters could think, they would understand the Lakers did not hit the 2nd apron only because LeBron took this pay cut. But I guess that's too much to ask from haters. 🙄
@travesotom68902 ай бұрын
Well 2 million to LBJ may not be alot to him but if you understood the Lakers cap situation it gets them under the 2nd tax apron which will allow them to use the 5.2 million exception to sign another player as long as they can trade a player because they currently have 15 players signed so a trade would allow them to use it also open up cap space for other trades 😂
