I think people get frustrated when Lecrae doesn't say "Jesus" enough. Its clear that his music hasn't changed or he compromised. He still has the same goal at the end of the day which is spreading the mission of Christ. Pray for Lecrae instead of Putting him down. Cant wait the new music!
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Why are you part of the minority in these comments though? Anyhow, what's your favorite song of his?

It's clearly not about him saying "Jesus" enough times. It's about what Christians are on this earth for - one aspect of why they are here is to follow Jesus and to promote not their own personal agenda, but to talk to unbelievers about God for them to be saved. Making music is all right, but what does God care about? The music you produce, the collaborators you unite with? God primarily cares about the person's soul. God gives talent, but a Christian artist must not forget that he/ she has what he/she has because God gave it - he/she must then use that gift to bring unsaved people to Christ, not care about how unsaved people can develop their music careers.
@darrisbair14606 жыл бұрын
LaMeilleure CopineAuMonde obviously he’s not doing it for personal gain, do you not hear Christ in his music? He could go mainstream if wanted to, think about it, it wouldn’t take him that long to do so either. Crae still loves Jesus and spreading the message to a bigger audience. If anything stop listening to his music then if bothers you 🤷🏽♂️

I personally believe that one of the greatest ways to spread the love of the Lord Jesus is to be an example in all places, ghetto or high class, high or low, diverse or all-white. Lecrae not only understands this, but lives this creed by being an example of clean, good, God-fearing ways in an industry saturated with misogyny, coarseness and vulgarity. He raps under and on stellar instrumental tracks, he puts his heart on a platter, he's bold, and he's good. He makes hip hop, no "mumble rap" garbage. He raps his faith and he helps other big names like Ty Dolla $ign, Metro Boomin, Big K.R.I.T and many more to realize the goodness that still exists in music and is an example to them of the Christlike life. One of my favorite emcees.

I finally understand Lecrae. How Christian singers are automatically put in a box when they enter the platform. Because of the influence in society many have this mindset. Back in the day, Elvis would have remained as a gospel singer if he was put in a box. But because there were " label" for Christians he was able to express himself. Similarly Lecrae strive for the same thing. He wants to get out of that box people are putting him into. And make a positive impact to the World through Jesus.

Indeed!Also I loved ATWT, its my favorite album actually. I feel like its the most relatable. Lecrae has inspired many of todays current christian rap artists;myself included. My favorite tracks from him on his recent album are worth it and I'll find you. I think what alot of his fans need to understand is that hes not just making music for just the church anymore. Now he is making music for everyone from all walks of life.

Beautiful! So do you understand why all the negative comments?
@o.e.bangerz65486 жыл бұрын
Alright this is the thing that I noticed in many of the comments and it’s really baffling to me. If ANY of the celebrity rap artists that Lecrae has featured on his new songs was to come to your Church do you really think in your right mind that Jesus our Lord & Savior would put in the Pastors heart to kick them out of the Church because they “walk in darkness” Absolutely not! The Church is like a spiritual hospital EVERY MEMBER AND PERSON IN IT NEEDS HEALING! Secondly every person commenting on this video is a sinner! Lastly I haven’t heard Lecrae cursing on any of his new records, supporting sinful acts on any of his new records or anything close to that kind of stuff on songs with these “secular” artists. All of the songs he makes with them are positive songs and he acknowledges the Lord on them . It would be WAY DIFFERENT if we heard him on their albums rapping the same as they do on secular songs with curse words, degrading women, etc etc etc. However these secular artists that have collaborated with him have conformed and changed the way they rap on his songs therefore exposing their audience to the kingdom which is a good thing! How can the word be spread if ppl don’t know you or don’t care to listen?! If ppl see these artists collaboring with Lecrae they will listen to his old music and find out even more about who he is and who he represents. I do wish that he instilled Christ a lot more outspokenly on his latest albums “Let the Trap Say Amen” But all in all I see exactly what he’s doing. I respect it. Now he’s getting persecuted by both sides both So called “Holier than though” Christians as well as the world looking at him funny like why is this gospel artist making secular songs he’s a hypocrite 🤦🏾♂️

Why would i wanna go back to listen to secular music after finding jesus.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
So are you saying that's what Lecrae does now?
@marsk096 жыл бұрын
For one, not once is he mentioned about jesus, the holy spirit wont abide where God is not present. Acting like they care about other people but its all fake. Making it all about them and the similar struggles but never an answer.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
I think he's not mentioning Jesus because he knows it can push some people off. He's really focusing on making an impact beyond Christian music and that means opening his music to other audiences who need to be "saved" and are ready to listen to something too "preachy". As long as it's positive, wouldn't you say his mission is still the same?
@marsk096 жыл бұрын
Well in order to have an impact on others you must live by example, anyone can call themselves a christian wearing a christian shirt, but not everyone can live it. Guess we'll have to find that out, i have nothing against him, just that it came across a brother. And asked me that moral choice for his career. Its causing a dramatic subject and its not even important. But somehow they wanna "promo" and for "unity" and its turning quite ironic. I would rather listen to coldplay lol

I do understand but I feel like their reasoning is off. I feel like those negative comments are just because he is making music with others who cuss and talk about other things that christians find offensive. That is the box I feel that Lecrae is talking about. We can't be closed minded and only talk to Christians and or only hang out with Christians too. The world needs Jesus! Let me give you an example of God wanting us to reach out to ALL, Zacchaeus who was a rich tax collector, cheated people of their money and Jesus could of reached out to those who were already following Him but He chose the short guy who stole from people. He had dinner with him and talked to him. He saved his soul and his family's just by talking to him. It is no different then what Lecrae is doing with those artists too. I got to go to sleep brother, I work nights. Have a blessed day. ☺️

"Who I really and truly am" 🤔 The idea we have of how "it's suppose to be" is defined in the bible. It's not our idea, it's what's written about Christians and being a true follower of Jesus Christ.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
So you're saying the Bible defines who you are, not yourself?
@brandonr15906 жыл бұрын
Ergy I'm saying the bible tells us how to live as a follower of Christ. There is no more than one way to be a Christian. Jesus said to share the gospel and never be ashamed which obviously Lecrae was doing before the fame. Why change it up? Why not continue the road God put him on? I'm not saying he doesn't believe any more but clearly he isn't proclaiming like he once was when he was on fire for God.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
As I said in other comments, that's his way to impact the culture from the inside so he can spread a positive message to a larger audience. Does that make sense?
@brandonr15906 жыл бұрын
Ergy it does I understand what you are saying bro but is a positive message the gospel? The gospel is what they need to hear and know. Not just positivity. Why even separate himself from "christan" rap? I mean he is Christian and he's a rapper right? People are going to talk and categorize either way but Jesus also said they will hate you also because they hate me. It's like he wants to be accepted by the world when he shouldn't even care what the main industry thinks or says about him being Christian, especially knowing and believing God is always on his side and with him.

Why won't Lecrae mention Jesus? He calling it "a spiritual transformation". Bro, Jesus is the one who saved you, and that's what you say in your book. Why aren't you saying anything about Him??? What happened to the Lecrae who wanted to spread the gospel and give Jesus every ounce of credit? What happened to the spirit filled Lecrae who was on fire for Jesus?
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
You're like the 10th people mentioning that in the comments. I believe he's still on fire for Jesus. His approach changed. Have you heard the new album yet?
@RemedyUnderTheSun6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Look I love Lecrae and I believe he has made a huge impact on a lot of people. But please just step back and watch this interview without being sure he is still on the right path. Don't you see how he is avoiding talking about being born again and Jesus? You are right he has changed his approach, but It definitely doesn't seem like for the better. No matter how much your music changes you should still confess your love for Jesus in interviews. If he doesn't want to share how he got born again in one of the smaller interviews like this, how will he spread the real gospel when millions are listening? Again I suggest you forget the fact he is a big rapper and at least think about it.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
I'm the interviewer in the video, I think I've seen it more than anyone else 😅 I understand and respect what you're saying. Maybe he's trying to find a new way to spread the Gospel to people who wouldn't usually be open to it.
@RemedyUnderTheSun6 жыл бұрын
And I understand that theory. You could be right. But if that's true, why does he still refuse to mention repentance and Jesus in interviews? Ok so you wanna reach people who don't listen to traditional CHH, great. Does that mean you have to change your life story? It used to be "Jesus rescued me from myself, and I am nothing without him, I got a burden to tell the whole world about him, without compromise". And now it's "I had spiritual transformation from many hard things I went through in my life, and I want to help kids who went through what I did." Helping kids and inspiring people is a great thing, but if you don't help them by showing them to Jesus that won't help them when they stand before the creator of the universe. It will just make their lives easier. That's not what God calls us to do. I'm not saying there is only one way of spreading the gospel. But a house needs a foundation. And right now his foundation is not Jesus, it's a spiritual transformation.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын

I hear a man that is ashamed of the Name of Jesus. He "grew" and doesn't need to share the gospel anymore. I hear a man afraid to mention the Name of Jesus and won't unless pressed, Spiritual transformation? Used to love his music. Defiantly does not have the flow, the power, the testimonies I used to love from this artist. Not Christian artist mind you, maybe more like a Kayne or Elvis ?

Don't you think he's using these words just so he can preach to a larger audience?
@joshualogan60336 жыл бұрын
Ergy he's not preaching to anyone. Not the Word of God at least. We preach Christ and Christ crucified. Not a "spiritual " experience. Which one of the early apostles or when did Jesus ever distance Himself from the Father to reach a wider audience? No Christ spoke the truth always even when it was unpopular and His Spirit leads us to do the same now.

He means he's much more than just a Christian. Does it make sense?
@speakklyfebeatz44146 жыл бұрын
No it doesn’t. Christianity is the pinnacle of everything. There is no higher status. When you are a Christian, there is nothing more to be desired or become. You can’t become “much more” than a Christian.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
What about becoming a better Christian? Not gonna happen being close minded like that... I don't understand why someone could feel so confident to share their point of view like it's the absolute truth. I'm glad people have faith and convictions but be a little more open-minded and tolerant. Clearly one of the things a Christian should be.
@speakklyfebeatz44146 жыл бұрын
Ergy becoming a better Christian is not what you stated in your first comment. You said “more than just a Christian” There was not a solid reference to the glory of Christ in this interview. (Many worldly references though) He said that’s where he was at. Exalting Christ is what consumes you. I believe he is a Christian, I just believe there has been a major shift in his music and focus. You can attest to that also if you were a fan. I have been for years. Be encouraged! Grace and Peace.

Yeah when I first got saved my brother handed me a Lecrae Real Talk Album..I enjoyed it and thought it was a really good album glorifying God (Jesus). But Lecrae music started changing..Why does the Devil steal God's Artists and defile them. I think because they want the money also fame and fortune..People want Fame and Money so bad...things that make you say hmmm!
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
He's still the same. His music has evolved to "save" more people, people who aren't interested in Christian Hip-hop per se but still need to hear a positive message. Does that make sense?
@NewEraSportsPodcast6 жыл бұрын
Ergy The only issue I have is that. No where in the Bible did Jesus say you can save people by music..He said it's the preaching of his word..Lecrae is misleading the youth..But he has to Answer to God and not me. He has signed to a secular label (Columbia Records)...with a roster full of people who promote sin in their music. The Bible says let no one deceive you not even Lecrae....or any other Artist for that matter. I pray he will come back to his first love (Jesus).Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.I'm not perfect but I'm working..to be more Christ-like.

I can share the gospel to a non believer outside of making music with them. If they are serious about receiving the gospel they will. Why would I need to get on a song with them? We both have obvious differences in lifestyle and we don’t serve the same God. For me to get on a song with you is to say that I’m in agreement with the message that you deliver in the song. I’m also telling those who believe in my message that they should be in agreement with your message as well. What agreement does light have with darkness? Again, I don’t need to make music with you to give you the message of the gospel. Many will sit here and make all of the excuses that they want. Did Paul seek to work with those who worked witchcraft? Did Jesus look for a way to extort money from others like the tax collectors just to show the tax collector that he was transparent and they should believe the gospel? The word of God clearly tells us to not be unequally yoked with non-believers. Do not participate in their lifestyle. Do not contribute to their darkness. We are the light of the world. No where in the Bible does it tell us to become like darkness in order to win those who are in darkness does it ? Quit with the excuses and worldly wisdom. Simply obey the gospel.

@lameilleurecopineaumonde96606 жыл бұрын

Don't really have a problem with what he said, just that he could instead of "my Christian faith" mention Jesus. Lifting Him up, because the mention of His name is power. Of course I'm saying this from a comfortable place behind a phone screen, so who am I to say that I'd do it any better with cameras on me? The flesh is weak. Point, blank, period. Let us show some grace and pray for this brother and the ministry instead of presupposing his intentions and the desires of his heart saying that he's lost or whatever. Just pray for them.

Building bridges wasn’t what Christ was trying to do nor did he call us to build bridges, He called us preach the gospel just as He laid it out for us to do so!!! Don’t try find ways to conform to the world in order to reach it, nowhere in scripture does it call us to do that, its unjustifiable according to scripture, which is the ultimate authority or at least it should be if you’re a follower of Christ!!! Funny how a lot of comments talk about how he changed. Have you watched the entire interview? If you did, you should understand the underlying message here. First, there's not a correct and unique way to be a good Christian. Second, he opened his music so he can impact more people and share a positive message with the World! Does that make sense?
@kingunknown81576 жыл бұрын
Ergy yes that makes sense I seen all his interviews n honestly it hits home since I grew up in the church n the ghetto where Ik what it is to be friends with Gangsters n Ppl who have struggled to be successful n I understand perfectly well both views n Lecrae does that shows you the both sides to one story n it's ugly but at the same time beautiful

😪😪 layup questions to talk about Jesus gripping his heart and changing his life and he just avoids it at all costs. I don’t understand the drift. I don’t want to put him in a box but there are some things the Bible is pretty clear on and I think he’s off course. 😪😪🙏
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
Maybe he's just taking a new course to preach to non believers, don't you think?
@bphifer6 жыл бұрын
Ergy i want to believe that so bad! And I have been taking that stance, but it just seems he is very careful to use words that sound kind of spiritual but not overly spiritual. It feels like he downplays and ultimately denies the power of the gospel. I certainly don’t want to be a man that says he should think and talk and act like me, but he’s put Jesus to the side in the name of being encouraging or something. It’s like he’s saying he wants to bring hope but doesn’t talk about what our ultimate hope should be in. I hope you’re right and I hope I don’t seem like a judgmental Pharisee, but rather a concerned brother in the faith.
@ErgyATL6 жыл бұрын
I think as an artist, he wants to go beyond CHH, that box has limited his mission, does that make sense?
@bphifer6 жыл бұрын
Ergy my concern is not that he wants to break away from a Christian music box...that I get...especially if it’s in order to expand reach of the gospel to people who would otherwise miss it...but it seems he’s removing Jesus and this is a box we cannot run from. He talks about God and his message is uplifting, but it’s void of Jesus. If he wants to change his music style so he can have more reach with the gospel off the mic then praise the Lord! I hope that’s happening!!! This interview however makes it sound like he wants to avoid overly spiritual talk at all costs. He’s very careful in his wording. So all I’m saying is as a brother in Christ, I’m concerned.

@TheSwordofTruth6 жыл бұрын
What do you mean "not by your definition"? My Definition of Christian is defined by the Word of GOD, the Holy Scriptures. The Word of GOD tells us to no be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. It tells us to be separate from the world. The Word of GOD does not tell us to compromise our faith, our belief, our sharing of the Gospel to attempt to win people. Win them to what? What Jesus is Lecrae preaching? The Word of God tells us there is another Jesus. I suspect through the fruit this is the Jesus Lecrae is preaching.

Where does he say he doesn't want to be called a Christian rapper? He just said he understands the need for people to put him in a category, but that doesn't define him. By the way, are Illuminati real? 😱
