i have a vertical thumb throttle on another bike and the horizontal thumb throttle seems to be easier on the thumb and easier to hold a steady pressure. if we're considering bolt on accessories only, a mirror that goes into the handlebar end is my vote if not going off road. also a saddle bag setup that goes around the down/top tube. something to grip your phone on so it's accessible and visible for any bike apps you might run, and carry a couple small tools like handle bar stands and a multitool.

so far on one of my xpeak's I've replaced the handlebar for 760mm 4 inch rise mtb type. also added a long adjustable neck. (front hydraulic line needs to be replaced for longer one but I'll run it tight for now) replaced seat post with sr suntour replaced saddle with serfas eg-8000el replaced grips with sunlite ergo form plus locking replaced screen with key-disp kd-718 replaced throttle with left handed, same design so it can be relocated. replaced shifter with shimano SL-M315 rapid fire shifter replaced derailleur with Shimano rd-m592 deore replaced rotors with tektro 203mm front and back. replaced tires with hycline urban street tread 26x4 (white wall for the step thru, black for the high step) added lectric sold puncture resistant inserts. added reflective rim tape added grip end mirror added top bar saddle bag by rockbros that includes phone mount in center. added rockbros hidden mtb bell also got handlebar jacks and a multi tool for the saddle bag. and a litelok x1 for locking the bike. i think i have things in a good spot (at least for the high step). next up is dual battery. also may replace the rear light with the cxwxc rechargeable auto sensing brake light with laser drive projection and turn signals. i have this on my cobra pro and it's great.

How do you feel about the factory hydraulic calipers?

​​@@ElectricAllWheel they seem to do the job, feels very comparable to the usual tektro two piston calipers you find on most bikes. i don't like the limited length of hydraulic line to the front caliper because it severely limits handlebar height but i guess that's fixable without changing hardware if you have the tools or take it to a bike shop. the brake handles don't seem as nice as the entry level tektro. plastic handle vs metal on the tektro. seems like a potential for breaking the handle if squeezing too hard. i haven't tried bleeding them or anything yet to get an idea on how that process compares edit: the factory rotors are 180mm and i just don't think 180mm is good enough on any ebike trying to stop at 20+ mph unless the total weight was tiny. especially not good enough for downhill mountain riding. I've switched all my 26" ebikes to 203mm rotors. I've stopped short so far of moving to 4 piston calipers. 203mm is a pretty significant improvement by itself. basically if you can immediately lock up your tires at speed then your brakes are good. if you can't, then you have the opportunity to do better if you want. I'd only care about overheating from frequent use if the above test passes.

What did you do to fix the short brake line issue? Mine is a little tighter then I'd like. And shops around me don't have the tools or know how to extend or replace them.

I have two electric bikes, I stripped the Phillips screw that goes to the shifter, when I got my ex peak I took it to the bike shop and two grown men could not get that Phillips screw loose on the shifter, and you had no problem whatsoever. what’s the secret?

Thank you for the video on XPeak add-ons. I have a Lectric X Peak and would like to change to the Cloud 9 seat. Do I need to buy a new seat bar or will it fit on the one that comes with the bike? Thanks

Cloud 9 seats typically come with an adapter so you will be good with both types for general industry bikes.

I just got the Xpeak Step-through and am going to order the stem extension and seat post shim, thanks to your informative video. Does this upgrade resolve the wiggly feel you sometimes get in the handlebars that some call the death wobble? Does setting up and back help balance the bike and give it a more stable feel?

What benefit is there to changing the grip? I just got my xpeak this weekend and I haven't noticed the grip being a problem. Or is it just because the factory grips usually get destroyed when changing the throttle?

The right hand grip is matched to the half grip twist throttle and is shorter than usual. When the throttle is replaced the gap must be filled

I have the x peak high step The only thing I don't like so far about it is the wires that come out the bottom of the frame do you recommend anything to cover that up because that's where everything flying off the wheel is going to hit

i really doubt things from the front wheel will hit that area even if you don't have the fender on. could you maybe hit it with a rock doing some trail riding, sure. it's possible someone could fab up a skid plate to protect them. but other than 3d printing one, I'm not sure where you would source something that would work. 3d printing one wouldn't be hard though. if you don't mind it mounting by straps of some kind.

@@cellsafemode well I just bought like a strap on rubber skid plate God that sounds horrible and I'm going to try to use that and I also have the thermal sleeve that I'm going to put around the battery too cuz my main purpose of this whole bike is for hunting purposes I have the 2.0 and it actually broke down on me twice both times were 10 mi out in the middle of nowhere unfortunately so I bought this one hopefully as a big upgrade

​​@@seanp6189broke down is a bit different from 'i broke it'. the wires aren't going to get damaged without a very obvious impact with something. you'll likely also damage your main chain sprocket and pedals while doing it. (I'm assuming you aren't riding thru bushes) i don't think they are in a needlessly exposed place. but if it costs little to cover it up then it does kind of suck that it wasn't from the factory. I'd have paid to see that implemented more than the bike lock many will end up not using because any lock less than a hundred bucks is basically for show. i guess for hunting you'd be more worried about branches catching and cutting up the wires. i was thinking hard plastic would offer more impact type protection but basically anything would probably work to avoid damage from foliage.

@@cellsafemode but thank you for putting the videos out on the x peak You're the only person I've found that actually goes into death of the bike and I really appreciate that thank you , also on my 2.0 lectric bike The thing that kept breaking down was the controller It just kept burning up basically probably because trail riding is really not put that bike was made for but the x peak is made for that so I have high hopes for it and I've already reached out to them to get a spare controller and wiring harness just to be on the safe side and also I'm going to be getting a spare battery once they're available

​@@seanp6189 i didn't put the videos out. i just have two of them that I've already done a bunch of stuff to already. a skid plate would be nice for the bottom. and i think the controller is just wedged into the bottom.. not mounted to the frame. so it will be interesting to see how it holds up to frequent impacts with the frame as you go over jumps and bumps.., if the controller has any wiggle room. that whole area gets sprayed with water when going over puddles even with the fenders on. probably goes without saying but I'd probably steer clear of any deep water. the controller is right there at the bottom opening and i doubt it's very water friendly..
