I really like the way you make the subject of economics simple and in terms that are everyday. You make it personal. I'm in my first economics class in college and it's being taught using heady thinking. Your teaching, (lecturing) is hopeful. I am actually excited. I like your ideas on institutions and the way they go from being deep to superficial.

that's how every college class online recordings are,. This might be a shock, but they aren't putting this stuff up for you and me, its for their students, and that stuff actually pertains to them.

Recommended reading on how to prevent a tragedy of the commons is a paper by Professor Robert v. Andelson, who taught philosophy at Auburn University. He delivered this paper at the annual conference of the Council of Georgist Organizations held at the University of Pennsylvania in 1989. This paper is available online here: www.cooperative-individualism.org/andelson-robert_a-commons-without-tragedy-1989.htm On comparative advantage... An important component of where goods are produced and services provided is the vast expansion of knowledge transfer. Your students come from different parts of the world and will return with the capacity to produce at a level far more universally-consistent than existed even in the recent past. This combined with calculations of comparative advantage based on "all-in costs" today determine where activity takes place. Government policy is, in some instances, a very strong externality (e.g., where government is committed to full employment and requires companies to produce in the country what they sell in the country).
