Hi Thanks for the video . Posting few queries: 1.Local DNS can point only to publishers only or can we to subscribers too .( what if pub goes down)? Any redundancy method? 2. _cisco-uds contains what all information? 3. How the Jabber identifies the TFTP server? Where Jabber get the Details !

1. We should add all publishers and subscribers on our local DNS. 2. It contains the information of your CUCM server(PUB or SUB) with the priority , weight and port number. Ex - _cisco-uds._tcp.abc.com priority weight port server hostname = 10.0.20.1.abc.com 3. TFTP Server is nothing but your CUCM server only, We just activate the TFTP service on CUCM server and your jabber takes that CUCM server details from DNS manager in _cisco-uds._tcp.abc.com

Thanks a lot for the informative vids! 1. why do you need sip trunk between cucm and im&p? 2. if my im&p is part of the cucm cluster - do I still need sip trunk between them?

This SIP trunk is a logical connection between CUCM and Im&P. You know the IP address of IM7P but you don't know how to reach out to that particular IP address so you need to create a SIP trunk and you mention that IP address while creating the trunk so that you can easily reach out to IM&P Server

Thanks for this info, I have query on SRV records. We have multiple sites in the world and using Single AD and DNS. So one region already configured the SRV records for Cisco UDS how do we prevent users from one region to contact that region and use local SRV Cisco UDS?
