The lack of owner repairs on certified aircraft keeps me from wanting to own one. I dont pay mechanics to fix my cars and truck so i would want to be able to fix my own plane.

it might be "not hard" to get the relevant license, for light sports at least, a certified mechanic course is like 3-4 weeks, probably doable for diy owner-repairers

He was talking about private practical stuff, indeed a few thing were off if you are a pilot as a job
