couple of queries : 1) In the start of the video, you mentioned if DSP resource is configured as high complexity and phone side is using medium complexity codec , then the call will work and call will fail if phone is using high complexity codec and DSP resource is configured as medium complexity codec ? let me know if this understanding is correct ?? Also, this applies only if a call is going to PSTN or a SIP provider via Gateway ?? 2) lets say phone A is configured with codec g711 and phone B is configured with G729 codec in the same region ? first, if this scenario is possible ?? if yes, how the call will work or it will simply fail ?? 3) Lets say phone A is configured with codec g711 and other phone is configured with G729 in other region then will the call work ? if yes then how 4) How the transcoder invokes while calling to PSTN via Gateway? i mean what is the process from which MGRL the transcoder is invoked ??

1) - This Statement is correct and this statement applies for both internal and external calls. For internal calls that don't traverse the gateway (e.g., calls between phones on the same local network segment), codec complexity and gateway DSP resources generally don't directly affect the call success. For external calls routed through the gateway (PSTN or SIP calls), codec complexity becomes crucial and this statement applies. 2) - Yes, this is possible - When phone A initiates a call to phone B, the phone system initiates codec negotiation. 3) - It depends upon codec negotiation between regions, Inter regional connectivity and media processing, Gateway DSP capabilities. 4) - It actually involves a series of steps - The MGRL configuration mainly specifies if a transcoder is available on the gateway and if it can handle the specific codecs involved (e.g., transcoding from G.729 to G.711).

difference between mtp required when needed and best effort is not clear ,, sounds like both are almost same .
