How did he calculate number of bolt. Shouldn't it be 2Vcot 45/n?

Isn't the formula for tie plate design like for depth and thickness changed as compared to previous example? 32:47

@@prasadkhorgade actually my problem was that in the previous example he told d= s+2Cyy and here he said that d= total side - Cyy. So I got it cleared by reading Cl. 7.7.2.3 (effective depth, logitudinally, not less than the perpendicular distance between the centroids of the main members). It depends on how the angle or channel sections are placed, back-to-back or face - to-face.

If face-to-face, then d= total side - 2Cyy. If back-to-back, then d= s+ 2Cyy

At 07:42, there is 5% increase in effective slenderness ratio of laced member in code(7.6.1.5) but here increase in effective length of member by 5%

Yes... It doesn't matter as increase is to be multiplied to the numerator.. so even if you multiply it to slenderness ration, answer wouldn't change.

In design of connection what we have to take in shear plane 2 or 1 for single, double lacing ?
