I tried using the 9&3 headlight setting on my Civic UFO, and while it did make the road brighter for me, I noticed that it could potentially glare into the eyes of any drivers coming towards me. So, I decided to switch to the 12&6 setting instead, as it seemed safer for everyone on the road. With the 12&6 setting, I could still see the road clearly, but without causing any inconvenience or danger to other drivers. Even my wife agreed that the 12&6 setting was the better choice for the safety of all road users, especially those coming towards us. But lastly for the down fog lights 9&3 are the best as you are not blocking any upcoming driver because your lights are mostly facing down when driving on streets

Sylvania led each side of led is longer or shorter shorter is high beam but it it to be on inside or outside of shade

Sadly in Australia we have this thing called ADR approved, many are safer overseas parts are technically not legal here including H4 LED globes from big manufacturers. One workaround for the NA is to use Standard 7” LED headlights for a Jeep or other vehicle that are ADR approved.

Hi Mike, thanks for the good explanation, I am fiddling with led lights on my 1970 Sunbeam Stiletto, yes do google that one 😀, it has the old 55watt duplo bulbs, the filament has a small mirror inside, currently I am testing leds with 2 leds back to back, the mirrors are simply round nothing fancy, the leds are beaming on 3 and 9 hours, The pattern doesn't look good, I wonder if I should use single leds , disconnect one of them and have it point upwards... The led sits on the same height as the filament, any comment is welcome, thanks in advance

just fitted new LEDs and the guy in the store told me that i dont need to worry about orientation because they have LEDs on all 4 sides, also told me they worked as headlights and dipped lights. but i dont seem to have any beam pattern at all on dipped lights. like theres no distinct line from brights to dark. But after testing on the road no one flashed me so im just assuming im not blinding people too much.

Yep, clocking LEDs so the chips face 9 and 3 is generally ideal for low and high-beam setups.

Have you seen vehicles (NB2) that the highbeam function doesn't quite work any more. i.e. went from working, with incandescent and also led upgrade that then suddenly aren't high beam, however, if you do the passing mode, those same high beams come on with the normal beams as well and light things up. granted you cant drive with that lever pulled back the whole time. that's what the forward highbeam position is. I've heard that the switch in the column gets corrosion or buildup over time and it isn't making correct electrical contact like it once was, so on that setting might (in my case) give a minimal "high beam", but not like it did before.

Ah yes it still has the bleed, only now instead of a shitty incandescent bleed it is now a dazzling led bleed. Can't wait to meet at night on a two lane blacktop in the rain and see absolutely nothing.
