I did this mod this weekend using the Beamtech H7’s as outlined in the video. I did have to cut the headlight boots to fit the assembly. I also had to lower my headlight pattern. That being said, no pissed off drivers - yet. Signs lit up like they were lit for once. Nice pattern. Brights are heaven sent. Night tested them tonight. The light is exceptional - worlds apart from the crap stock lights on the V1k. Not sure how long these will last. If they don’t, will replace them with higher quality lights. That being said, will never go back to stock lights - horrible. Not sure why Kawasaki didn’t do led to start with. Between this and my Back Off tail light modulator, improved visibility for less than $100. Cheap insurance and great investments.

I just finished to install LED headlights (Beamtech H4) on my Concours /GTR 1400... it went flawless, no mods, same dust covers, etc.... just plug and play. Well, I recall when replacing the headlight bubbles on my 2016 Versys the harness connection to the light was inside of the dust cover. In order to have a better LED retrofit, I would like the same dust cover set up as on the GTR /C14., of course using a H7 LED. Before I buy a new pair, do the mounting diameter of the Versys? ... 70mm?? THX for your help
@ozarksbackroads54844 жыл бұрын
Good to hear from you sir, I am glad the new headlights have worked well for you. I no longer own the Versys so I cannot measure the diameter of the cover. Sorry I could not be of more assistance... Thanks for watching and keep safe out there... :)

I tried to do this and everything went smooth until I tried to power up the lights. They would not work… I tried switching the polarity and still nothing. I put the OEM lights back in to see if they work and they don’t either. Any suggestions? Big fan of yours from KC with 17’ Versys 1k and I love heading down to Ozarks! Love your videos!

Hello there sir, sounds like you have blown the fuse for the headlights. I would replace the fuse, put the stock halogen bulbs in and verify that all is well. Then try replacing the halogens with the led's one and a time. If one of the led bulbs blows the fuse again then that bulb is bad and needs to be replaced.... good luck and thanks for watching... :)

Hi, question. If you still have V1000. How is it after almost 3 years with this LED lights? Did you have problem with blinding oncoming traffic? Any problems at all? I have 2018 V650 and i wish to instal LED lights but some people say it is not good, some say it is perfect. What is your review after 3 years?
@ozarksbackroads54843 жыл бұрын
Hello there sir... good to hear from you. I sold that bike to a friend of mine.. he still has the led lights in it. I have ridden with him many times and can say that the lights are not blinding to oncoming traffic. If you have lights that blind oncoming traffic then the light needs to be adjusted down it is set to high. The light housing is adjustable up and down as well as left and right. I always check my light position against the position of the halogen light when I change over to LED. Those bulbs are only 25 watt LEDS so they aren't going to be overly bright. I also have the LED bulbs on my 2019 V-Strom 650 and I really like them. Again I stuck to a 25 watt bulb for both the high and low beam bulbs. It is hard to find bulbs at that wattage, most are up around 60 or 65 watts which is really bright for an LED bulb. A 25 or 30 watt LED bulb should last forever at that lower power.. hope this helps... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)

Great mod. I’m going to upgrade my Versys 1000 headlights. But I can’t seem to find the same set you used on Amazon. There are many Beamtech bulbs. Would it be possible for you to send me a link or tell me specifically which one you used?

@ScottAxon-r2l hello there sir... good to hear from you...it has been several years since I made that video I am sure those bulbs I used in that video are no longer available... you will want a led bulb that is somewhere between 35 and 50 watts power consumption. You will just have to look at the bulbs that are available now to find some... good luck and thanks for watching... :)

After using them, do you think you could have left the rubber boots intact since the new lights draw less power and produce less heat than stock(maybe)?

Looks like not very wise decision in my opinion, especially to cut off original bulb cover. Can you please update. I believe a plenty of dust inside your light body, and probably, this led wasn't so long to burn out, let alone it blinds all incoming traffic, but I will be glad to hear from your point of view, so maybe we all learn from it. Thanks! Don't take it personal, please. 🙏

You should try the projector lens H4 Led bulb. The beam patterns is better.
@jonmulack42265 жыл бұрын
A flashlight would be better than stock. Stockers are so bad they should have a safety recall! That being said, they work great once it is absolutely dark. Imo, at twilight conditions, they are a little weak, but they are far superior overall. High beam is very good. Get the Beamtech LED running lights also. In daytime operation all these lights make us MUCH more visible and do not offend others. I had to lower my low beam for better performance.
