Hi Steve, thanks. I would imagine Mini LED is a significant improvement over current QLED. Samsung just announced their new "Neo QLED" which is using Mini-LED. Without having seen one in action I can't say for sure, but logically OLED should still come out on top since each pixel can turn off.

Hi Alex, good question. I read around a bit but it got way too technical. However, I don't see why it should be any different from OLED in that regard, and OLED has very low power consumption so my best guess would be no.

Hi! I have several questions. I am very excited for this technology to be integrated into phone and tablet displays. My question is, does this increase the PPI count? Does mini-led and micro-led mean a higher resolution by default? The new iPad Pro (likely coming in March) are supposed to integrate this mini-led technology; does this imply a jump in resolution? Or am I equivocating something here? Also, would this technology allow for better, more/vivider, and accurate colours compared to current LEDs (like apple’s liquid retina), or will that stay the same? I’m guessing the increase in contrast will already help with this? Would micro-led and mini-led affect refresh rate or “hertz”, and would they draw more, less, or equal amount of power? Thanks 😊

@Burgergio 3 жыл бұрын
Just want to clarify, most Mini Led tvs in today’s market are probably pushing between 800-2000 zones. Micro Led will probably have 20,000+, but are insanely difficult to produce and are not consumer ready for years.
@Revolve-Studios
@Revolve-Studios 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Micro-LED should have one light per pixel, since the lights are directly creating the picture. But as you say, so far they are reserved for commercial use and the wealthy.
@Burgergio
@Burgergio 3 жыл бұрын
@@Revolve-Studios yeah it’s great tech, but the vast amount of pixels must make the yield rates insanely difficult and expensive. Unfortunately it’s not viable at the moment and OLED is still great besides the risk of burn in.
@bolek158

Sorry to say that but I guess you explained it wrong. What you've sad, suggestst that micro LED is basically an LCD in which each pixel is beingt lit up individually. It is not the case. Micro LED is basically the same as OLED in which each pixel is an individual source of light. The difference is the non organic material the pixels -LEDs in MicroLEDs are made of but both the technologies work exacly the same way :)

At the end of the day you're talking about LCD TVs with LED back lighting, micro LED or mini LED it's still only back lighting , blooming problems with still exist, they simply will not compare to OLED, where ever pixel on the screen is it's own light source.......
@Revolve-Studios
@Revolve-Studios 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, that's true for Mini LED but Micro LED is no longer using a back light - perhaps I could've explained that part better. Each pixel emits its' own light independently and can switch off, the same as OLED. The difference between the 2 is that Micro LED is not made using organic materials - so theoretically it can a) be much brighter (if needed) but b) it will not have any luminance decay issues over time so it should last even longer.

these "new" screens look nice, but are basicly old technology. all they thrive on is overacted contrast and 8k and size. they would be more appealing if they have the key features of oled, these 2019 and 2020 models are perfect. burnins are a fable from internet from people who try to di this on purpose. high contrast is just annoying this is why i ditched my old samsung tv, blacks are horrible to no matter how tiny the leds are you don't see treu black, wich is important for displaying true picture. so i stick with my LG oled C9 till the time i can game at 0,01 m/s black is black, colors are natural instead of overacted greens and reds. also every resolution looks great at 120hz and runs smooth. i think nano is not ready yet, but it will be in 5 years or so. this technology is the only technology that can beat oled. but its too expensive to produce right now

I am yet LCD enthusiast, and Mini-LED takes this kind of panel to a whole new level. I hope this soon to come up to LCD smartphones, like high-end spec LCD to almost match OLED kind. So far, the highest-end LCD I know is those which equip Zenfone 6, Xiaomi Mi 10t Pro 5G, Iphone XR, Razr Phone 2, etc, but all of them suffer from being lit by a homogenic LED backlight. It keeps the blacks solid enough at daylight, but contrast ratio falls at darker ambient or at night. Just a FALD bring Mini-LED can fix this old LCD issue...
