Great early version...great fan of this song, and there are so many different live versions that are all unique. The 1973 MSG version is a must watch. It is 28 minutes of greatness!!

Less than 1 year they get together as a band....firts album was recorded in october 1968...that's why they were so incredible...4 master musicians

This is one the shortest versions of this song they ever did. The 28 minute version from MSG 1973 is the greatest guitar performance ever recorded. They were doing four-hour shows by then.

Wait until you see the 1973 msg one!! This is the shortest concert they ever played...usually 3 or 4 hours and never had a warm up band!

Did they actually not ever have opening bands? That is insane 😳

before they turn their amps to 11 they cranked their stage presence, talent level and synchronicity to 12....every time

The version from French tv....in color....is also fantastic. Obviously, the 1973 version from MSG is a must.

Jimmy Page first performed this song with the yardbirds, his previous band, also available on youtube and well worth watching - different lyrics . That was a cover version of a song by Jake Holmes. There was a bit of a todoo about attributation with their eventual version which was resolved by led zep conceding their version was" inspired by" jake holmes. it was a good original song but by the time jimmy Page finished with this piece of music it is fundamentally different and he had taken it to a whole new level not least with his violin bow experimentation . For live performances they put something different in the middle chaos section for each perfromance so they are never the same twice. Along with the versions mentioned below there is also a good version from London 1969. I always enjoy the early footage, not taking anything away from MSG concert, but you can see more of JPJ and John Bonham - easier to see the whole band interacting with each other. Always worth seeing the live performances from the Royal Albert Hall 1970- particularly like i can't quit you Baby. By MSG jimmy page had turned the violin bow playing into perfomance art - you will be blown away. You can't assess Jimmy Page as a guitarist by only one track, but you also can't do it without dazed and confused.

Jones and Page were both highly regarded session musicians before zeppelin, with a LOT of experience.

Jimmy has been playing Dazed and confused before he created zeppelin! He played dazed and confused when he was in the yard birds years before zeppelin!

Bonham was into race cars, he drove a dragster, one of the baddest and scariest types of race cars to drive.

The 28 minute version is really good, but there's longer version that go 45 minutes.

Man, I really had no idea bands in this time were doing 25-45 mins versions of a single song! Blows my mind! Lol

Fyi, plant had a sore throat and a cold so he was not going for any high notes. This concert was an aberration for him. Still sounded good tho.
