the main reason they didn't involve jpj was coz they knew it would be interpreted as "led zep reform". but also coz its a lot easier for 2 people with a lot of history and baggage to get back together than 3 people. they shudda let him know tho, basic manners

much agreed with both your statements exept he was the best bass player,but he was zeps go to guy instrumentaly:guitar,mandolin,piano,melotron...etc...did i mention songwriter! they at least coulda called him.what happened to one member is gone,led zep is gone.anyway,he got the last laugh,their solo stuff was bigger,j.p.j.s is way cooler

Seems there is or was some bad blood between JPJ and Jimmy as why not even contact him and run the idea of the reunion by him after all the rigmarole that LZ was not LZ without all 4 of them. Even JPJ seems surprised by the cold shoulder.

Well, still why they didn't call him? did they have a fight? I don't really understand page's expalnation here, but anyway they didn't took him because they didn't want a zep reunion, they just wanted a two-man project I think.

I got the impression that Jonesy was a little bit of an outsider in the band. Sometimes he choosed to stay in some other hotel than the other guys.
