Yes, it's overkill, but to a hardcore fan, the road boxes are a major want. If you've got the means and the opportunity to buy one, I would to. I can see it on your face, how excited you are just to see one in person much less knowing it's yours. Congrats on the early Christmas present 😁

@@Licoricedisc $700 in those days is an absolute steal. The Bill Evans Riverside is only 22 discs and is $900 and that’s without a flightcase and double sided. This set would probably be minimum of $2000 in todays market direct from manufacturer. This set is absolutely incredible, congrats on owning a serious piece of history

Dillon, Congrats. I can’t think of anyone other than you that should own this box set. Your system and your passion for LZ are a perfect match for these records. It’s not crazy at all. There seems to be a lot of comments and discussions about the price of high quality vinyl. My thought is, if you can afford them and appreciate them, then enjoy. There is a lot of good quality vinyl at a reasonable prices available for all of us to enjoy. It’s always been all about the music.

I don’t have the box set, but I did acquire the test pressing box sets on Clarity 45 rpm vinyl of Led Zeppelin I, II, & IV, and they are monstrous rockers with an eerie depth, spacious soundstage, and captivating in scope.

So how did they get to do this and Atlantic did not? Or were they involved? What's, "Classic Records", anyways? Nothing to do with, "Ultimate Classic Rock Magazine", right?
@gotham615 ай бұрын
@@alexkx8599 Classic Records was a now defunct audiophile record label that would license recordings from the original licensee to make high quality reissues. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab is another similar label that may be a more familiar name. Atlantic Records has reissued this stuff many times themselves, but most critical listeners would agree that the Classic Records versions sound better. No, there is no connection to Ultimate Classic Rock magazine.

Fantastic video and congratulations on the Zeppelin 45 Case. I almost bought one back in the day. I don't have that Fantastic Case, but I do have all the Classic Records of Led Zeppelin 45's. I was lucky enough to have a friend who used to work at Classic who hooked me up with Zeppelin 1-thru to-Presence,BBC Sessions and their all 45 RPM White Label Test Pressings. I'm missing SRTS,ITTOD and Coda. He also hooked me up with Classic Records 45 Test Pressing of Jethro Tull Aqualung, Genesis 45 Test Pressing of Selling England by the Pound and Genesis Foxtrot. The Who Who's Next and Who by Numbers and Peter Gabriel One. I have a Blue Turquoise Zeppelin 1 like yours and a LedZeppelin 2 Monarch Robert Ludwig. I met Robert Plant many years ago and have his autograph. My 2nd favorite Collectable is my LedZeppelin 2 album cover Authenicated and Certified, signed by all four Original members. My favorite Collectable are a few rings, a necklace and a few other things from Jimi Hendrix. I know his US Managers family very well..long story but all legitimate and authenticated/certified. Been in this stuff for almost 50 years. Peace ✌️

Love your passion for Led Zeppelin, I first heard them when BBC Radio One played Communication Breakdown before it was released, sometime around late 68 early 69 as the first Led Zeppelin album was released in the US in January 1969 and in the U.K. in March 1969. Anyway it knocked me out and I knew instantly that this band were going to be the next big thing after the Beatles. I first saw them live at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1969 at a Gala Pop Festival an amazing gig, then on January 9th 1970 they played non-stop for over 2 hours and it was mayhem, the audience went wild and the Royal Albert Hall banned any more rock concerts for a couple of years, great memories 🎉
@alexkx85995 ай бұрын
How old were you in '69?! You look too young to be around back then, lol. For me it's Michael Jackson THEN Led Zeppelin, then Queen, THEN the Beatles...then some group call FREE. Somewhere from there it's Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Sinatra, Presley, Cream, Hendrix, The Stones, Bowie. Elton, Cash, Whitesnake, White Stripes, Leppard, G'N'R, Bon Jovi, The Scorpions, Louis Armstrong, Meat Loaf, Whitney Houston, Prince, Madonna, Aerosmith, T-Rex, Diana Ross (Motown folk), U2, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Tina Turner, etc., etc. Oh, my God, I've never heard that about the Royal Albert Hall issue, lol! That's WILD.

That is HUGE, congratulations! I’ve got the 2005 s/t debut 200gr, and to date it’s the best version I’ve listened to. I did just acquire the ‘69 ATCO brown purple label, which is phenomenal, but without critical analysis can’t confirm it’s actually a different mix. Definitely a different cut, as evidenced by the banding changes from the standard release. You have me second guessing myself now tho. Have the opportunity to acquire a second state Scranton Butcher, but would likely have to trade my sole Classic Records pressing to make the deal…..

I saw this set when it first came out at an audio show in Los Angeles. It was going for $1000.00 at the time and they had I believe 3 boxes there. I was going to pull the trigger but like a dummy I didn't because I didn't want to carry it around with me during the show and I was too lazy to carry it back to my car and store it there. Also, $1000.00 was a good amount of money in those days for records, but I kick myself everytime I see one or hear about what they're going for the days. Imagine if I had bought two that day....... Enjoy your set, and here's hoping Chad does something about reissuing the catalog (I'm sure he will!) soon!
