I am 60 and this guy makes me want to get a kit! (I am a Bonzo fan and mediocre piano and guitar player-and female!) You folks are so lucky to have KZbin and these teachers (of all skills levels and temperaments) to teach you for *FREE!!*

Always loved your playing. I always thought you talked to much when I was younger and first coming across your videos, but as I age as a person and drummer, I've come to realize that you take great pride in what you do and want to ensure that your message gets across. You always had a way to bring me back to Bonham, and I thank you for making your presence on KZbin. An inspiration, wonderful teacher, and a character. Cheers to you, sir! Keep whackin' those skins.

Any time, sir! I've seen negative comments on your videos and can't understand why, you're one of the few KZbin drummers who actually knows what they're doing. Looking forward to future uploads, wish I could jam with you.

Terry, your an awesome teacher man. I just played the ending in my cover as an improv in the style of what I thought John played. I removed this section in the audio file and moved the guitar/bass ending out further than the original to accommodate what I played. Thanks for sharing your gift for teaching and drumming.

Thanks. I've been listening to this song for over 20 years and didn't know that "chunk 3" began with the left hand hitting the first tom and inverting the triplet! All this time I thought it began with the bass drum, but that never sounded right.

Excellent job my man. I've always wanted to learn that ending the exact same way that J. Bonham performed it. You nailed it !!! It couldn't have been explained and demonstrated it any better, Hands Down. Breaking it into 3 parts, make it so much easier with the learning process. Took me about 1/2 hour with a lot of rewinding/ play, rewind/play, etc....but I got it. lol...now its time to pick up the speed to the proper tempo. Being a drummer for so many years, I've found that once I get a fast lick nailed down at a slower tempo, playing it at tempo comes simply with focused practice and repetition. Thanks again for taking the time to demosnstrate.
@thedrumdoctor10 жыл бұрын
10/10. I thought I KNEW it until I realised I didn't and came across your vids. It's almost taken 20 years for me to realise that Bonham's triplets were led with the LEFT hand! That was courtesy of your other vid on the subject. Thanks for sharing and informing.

Thank you for doing this, It has driven me insane since 1976 trying to figure it out, well done !!! You really get the nuances of Bohnam's Playing & Style and can interpret it. Also its nice to know that there are so many Bohnam obsessed lunatics like me. (its hard to believe he was so young to be so talented, and now he has been gone longer than he was alive)

I guess you could say I've been faking that end solo my whole life LOL I just incorporate a lot of me in whatever I do I usually start my triplets with my foot left then right, but this is a great breakdown of exactly how it's supposed to be played or the way Bonham did it that day in the studio. There's something about Bonhams feel and groove that just makes you want to play and I'm sure many can attest to that. A lot of people are saying you're insane but you're not you're just a naturally spun out drummer I love it. Thanks for the video bro.

Dude! Sooooooooooooo helpful! Thank you!!!!! I've referred to several videos of this break down, but none have been more effective in my opinion than yours. Why? Because you repeat until the cows come home, so to speak and do it very slow. Yes!!! That's how to do it, sir! It's not too much or too slow. It works!!! Thank you! Keep up the great job!

Just gotta thank you man, you're a trip dude, (and of course I mean that in a great way,) but your understanding and break down of Bonham's technique are spot on. I was more of a Mitch Mitchell, Keith Moon follower and respected JB's style but never really listened to him. A current band I'm playing in is covering a few of their tunes and if I need help (which I do all the time,) I turn to your page. Rock On & Thank You!
