Page's solo flies above some heads because of the mixture of a rhythmic feel tied to the song and not limited to simple scales. It's always different and improvised in the moment.

Jimmy Page greatest guitarist. Robert Plant greatest vocalist. John Paul Jones greatest bassist, keyboards and any other instrument you care to mention and the greatest drummer John Bonham. There has never been and never will be any band greater.

the reason they stayed that close is because they keep jamming during live, extending some few minutes songs up to half hour mix tape, just by nods & other visual cues, amazing however, their studio recordings have more richness with all the layering & mixing

Considering how many guitar overdubs Page often does, they’d need quite a few more guitarists, yet they still make them great live.

Huge stadium shows were around in the early 70s. I attended quite a few Day on the Green festivals in Oakland Ca. Those started in 73, big shows and great times! I first attended in 77 for Fleetwood Mac Rumours tour. Keep diving into LZ, will not disappoint!

The 70s, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney with Wings,Elton John, Yes, George Harrison with Ravi Shankar, I saw this show Amazing. Fleetwood Mac and The Moody Blues, a concert where LSD was just given out and free. they all packed stadium and arenas . Im 71 and was in my prime to witness the Golden Age of rock n roll. I'm old but I did get too see the really cool bands.

Keep in mind bands grouped together onstage back then because everyone was tethered to a cord. You’re used to seeing modern artists with wireless everything and in ear monitors ranging all over massive stages. LZ had monitors on the floor and if you wanted to hear yourself, not to mention your band mates, you didn’t stray too far.

Though they did cover some old blues songs, that the majority wouldn’t even know, had they not covered them. I personally think they changed them enough to make them their own, actually several of their originals are true masterpieces, & other songs are excellent. They sold out I’d say the majority of their concerts, if not all of them, most they were the only band playing & played nonstop for 3 to 4 hours. Anything from this concert is amazing, highly recommend Since I’ve Been Loving You. An original masterpiece blues rock song, with great solos. Or live at Earls Court (1975) In My Time Of Dying, the 12:04 version posted by Andriu 1962. Page kills it on a slide guitar, as the others kill it too. Two of my favorite live performances, thank you for your reactions, MORE LED ZEPPELIN!!!

this is the greatest rock 'n' roll band that ever lived and has sold more albums than any rock 'n' roll band and only produced eight studio albums selling over 400M albums.... to give you an idea of how big that is, the stones are at 250 with approximately 27 albums produced 👀 and to answer what you had to say about them staying in close proximity was that they played very well together and harmonized quite a bit between plant and page and John Paul Jones, the bass player would be very close to John Bonham as they were the backbone of the beat between the bass player and the drummer, It's not unusual, they fed of each other !!
@christopherone1
@christopherone1 2 ай бұрын
i'm not sure they sold more than the Beatles, that other 'rock n roll' band. I'm not sure where you're coming up with those 'statistics' : The Beatles have sold 412 million albums, The Rolling Stones have sold 239 million albums and Led Zeppelin have sold 203 albums. Granted, LZ ended after tragic death of beloved greatest drummer ever, John Bonham.

Open shirts and bare chests have been around for awhile. You see it with Iggy Pop, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc. And it was a trend with 70s rock bands. The sideburns were known as mutton chops and was very common back then. I was a teen in the 70s and even today I still like the longer hair over the short buzzed cut that has been common since the 90s. That really short hair reminds me of when I was a little kid and men over 30 had that buzz type cut. Really short. Maybe that is why I like the dreds that African American men wear today with the longer hair. But, I am going totally off topic. Led Zeppelin was and is the gold standard of rock. They were GOATs. The top of their craft. Robert is usually tied or back and forth for best singer of the rock era with Freddie Mercury. His range is amazing. And if you delve into more Zeppelin you will see it is a very diverse in their music. From the easier Going to California and folk type music to deep blues like Since I've Been Loving You and When the Levee Breaks. To opus type of music such as Stairway to Heaven to Middle Eastern with Kashmir. They did not just do hard rock. And the subjects are about everything. That is why the bands that came after trying to copy them always come up short. They are too one dimensional. Jimmy Page is the best guitarist. He usually comes in under Hendrix but recently it is thought maybe Jimmy is over Hendrix as Hendrix was only active for a couple years and Jimmy has decades of work. Bonham is seen as the best drummer period and changed the way drums were played from just beat keepers in the background to being a huge part of the music now. John Paul Jones is a musical genius with playing a variety of instruments and doing arrangements. While in the background recently his role as been seen as far more important then it used to be.

Jimmy Page the guitarist here is one of the best guitarists of all time and also their drummer John volume was just amazing. And I'm really surprised at how well just 4 guys on stage can sound so good. I know what is in this that they don't have the volume for the singer up very much but it's still a good performance. If you watch Jimmy Page you can tell that he really loves playing the guitar he is so animated and he's so good it reminds me of Janna stoplin if you ever watch a live performance by her you can tell that she really feels the music.😅😅

In the early 70s, Grand Funk Railroad sold out Shea Stadium faster than the Beatles did. That concert just like this one... both amazing. The Song Remains the Same video has many songs from MSG from the 3 night run in 73' (even if some of it was filmed on an empty sound stage in London)

An interesting concert that was done I think in the late 60s maybe early 70s was The Rolling Stones at Altamont. And they had hired the hills angels motorcycle group to do the security and it ended up being in a outnow brawl and people in the audience were injured it really got out of hand.

LOL, I own the cd. It's actually a very good version. Technically, it is a live cover. But so is the "Stairway" one you mentioned. And I could be wrong but I don't think the Stairway one was actually on an album of theirs. While Rock and Roll was. So if you want to say it wasn't a studio release....... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greatest_Hits_(1998_Heart_album) Scroll down and look at track 17. It was on their best of album and it was released as a single and played on the radio as a single. So, even though it's a live recording, it does appear they always knew they were going to release it as a single. www.google.com/search?q=did+hearet+cover+the+song+rock+and+roll&oq=did+hearet+cover+the+song+rock+and+roll&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIJCAEQIRgKGKABMgkIAhAhGAoYoAEyCQgDECEYChigATIJCAQQIRgKGKsCMgkIBRAhGAoYqwIyCQgGECEYChirAjIHCAcQIRiPAtIBCjEzMjcxajBqMTWoAgiwAgE&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:635be55f,vid:N-2UjtFXl1E,st:0 Apparently they also covered "The Battle of Evermore." Which I vaguely remember from somewhere.
