Great track! I highly recommend the studio version first (imo it's superior in every way), the live version has great energy but Plants vocals are a mess at points

Damn Robert was so young here. Just 20. Within three years, he would become the top frontman in rock with all the charisma and swag to go along with that. How he changed from this performance to 1973 MSG concerts is mind blowing.

You need to listen more to the greatest band to ever grace our lives. Their catalogue of work is vast and every song is brilliant and many many are iconic. Nobody else to touch them.

The vocals are completely different from the studio version, lyrics included. Keep diving down this rabbit hole gents, Zep goes deep and heavy.

Plant & Bonham are both 20, JPJ just turned 23 & Page just turned 25. There’s a few songs at this show, it was a filmed radio show, those kids were supposed to sit there quietly. They recently colorized this show, Page breaks out the violin bow to play one of the songs, which he perfected using. This was one of the more mild songs the played here. One of Plant’s voice cracks, you can see him like roll his eyes, giving a oh shit look. Little things like that in their performing, adds to their realness, & they keep them in. Plant in my opinion is the greatest Rock & Blues singer, he used his vocals perfect to each song, great range tone & textures. Thank you for your reaction, & YES more Led Zeppelin, can never get enough LZ.
@josephkellard64322 ай бұрын
The original on Led Zep I is outstanding, with Page’s Spanish guitar accents and Plant singing with even deeper passion. Check it out.

Worth watching is How Many More Times from the same three song set here being recorded for Danmarks Radio (a Danish TV company). It is, I believe, their first and last TV performance. Thereafter, if you wanted to see them you paid them money. Plant and Bonham from the midlands, Jones and Page from the south.

Thank you for showing this one. This was in the very beginning when they first got together. Look how young he looks. This isn't one of my favorite songs that they do but it's nice to see them live and so early in their careers😅

My absolute favorite Led Zeppelin song! And it’s a cover. It’s crazy
@lyndoncmp57512 ай бұрын
It actually bares little in common with the original though. Most of the music and lyrics are original to Zeppelin. I'd call it a major reworking.

It's not a cover. It's based on a song but nothing like the original.
@thesongremainsthesameLZАй бұрын
@@grahamfay2473 I mean it has very similar lyrics and zep members have said it was their own version of the Joan Baez song, so technically it is a cover just done in a very unique way

The irony of you pointing out the camera lingering on the bassist while the guitarist was playing. Once LZ took off, you pretty much never saw either of the rhythm section ever again cos all the camera did was show the guitarist and singer even when there was nothing to see. One of the most disappointing things about available LZ footage-it's so, so unbalanced.
