Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

We were hanging out with a group of people and the guy that live that that location put on a Led Zeppelin album. It was love from then on in. What amazingly perfect band. The jumps from soft to rough then absolute groove from JPJ, the talking between vocals and guitar from Plant and Page, all the drumming, like all of it, its just so good. The entire album is just oozing so much of this creativeness and synergy. To think this came right after their 1st album. People not expecting lightning to strike twice and it did that same year.

God!!! Going back to the 70's when this came out and listening today in 2021.. Realizing in the first riff of the song, there is still nothing quite this good still today. For Led Zeppelin to remain original and hard hitting even for today's standards is why they continue to fall under the class of timeless masterpiece Rock. There may never be a more talented and calculated 4 peice in the rest of the history of Rock and Roll than Led Zeppelin!
