Thanks for putting up a review of the made in India 101Z. The Jeans look good in terms of fit and fabric quality. However, the color looks too commonplace. It lacks the depth of Japanese’ Kaihara denim. Pity, since the 101s and 101Zs sold abroad seem to be of a much darker hue. I was about to order this pair online since there are some good deals underway when I saw your review. Decided to skip since I have too many in the same shade of blue in my wardrobe.

@@praburavindran2342 Thanks for sharing! I agree, and after a fade I think it will turn into that 90s blue look, similar to Wrangler 13MWZ. I have Uniqlo selvedge denim, which has a darker color depth, but I don’t know if it’s from Kaihara Mills. It’s made in Bangladesh, but I think they sourced the fabric from Japan. Also, I have Levi’s 512 Made & Crafted line manufactured in China with fabric from Japan! I’m making videos on these two jeans.

Exactly!…I still have many of my Lee and Levi’s jeans from the 90s in almost the same color. I agree, Uniqlo’s Selvedge jeans come in a better shade of deep indigo though I doubt if they are from Kaihara. The fabric, while it feels premium, has a more ‘industrial’ finish unlike the raw Selvedges from Kaihara. Pity they have stopped the regular fit and are carrying only slim fits. Looking forward to your upcoming reviews.
