@davyjones4188 ай бұрын
I own 2 pairs of pants. They are both Iron Heart 25oz. What convinced me to invest in these was the free repairs for life (oh, and having 35-37" inseams - unheard of in Japanese denim). I already have over 1000 wears on one of them, and more than 300 on the other. They are pants I could imagine wearing the next couple decades. Their 25oz is the best on the market. Tightly woven, and less prone to cracking then other brands. It's nice to simplify my wardrobe by owning very few, but only the best, clothes.

Owner of IH 777s 14OD and it's true, they feel so different compared to any of my other denim and I own pairs from Kato, Momotaro, Samurai, Oni and Naked & Famous and have tried Brave Star. IH is soft and comfy, there is almost next to no break in time needed and at least from my black OD pair the fades have actually been really fast and are looking great. The quality is on point, every stitch, hem stitch and so on is perfect...nothing is loose, or coming out or anything at all compared to even my nicer Samurai 710 organic cotton pair. I also own two different denim jackets from IH and the quality is equally as good and the customer service from IH UK's site was great, they double checked everything with me regarding sizing and I do love them despite the expensive price tag. One last thing not mentioned, IH jeans have lined back pockets too, they feel nice and soft when you reach in to grab a phone or wallet, not many brands do this.

@@amossutandi Not an expert but I imagine that can also be a fit issue instead of just straight up quality. If the jeans are on the tighter side and you wear them a touch low waisted, it'll put stress on the seams in the crotch. That said, the brands you tried are a world away from Iron Heart. There's a big jump in quality (at least from what i've noticed) from higher end department store brands to the brands mentioned in this video.

I honestly like numerous Japanese denim brands; Samurai, The strike Gold, PBJ for their different textures (see the hank-dyed natural indigo in the Aizome AI PBJ!), some colors (see the Samurai Uguisu), and others. But if there was only one brand I could buy, it would be a super close battle between Samurai and IH, and IH would most likely win that battle. I am currently wearing one pair on jeans every day as a sort of exercise in minimalism. This is the Indigo-Black IH-777-21oz. And yes, this thing is a beast and yet it is indeed super soft in now time, molds extremely well to your shape, and has a level of construction and thereby of comfort that is (to me) unparalleled. Let alone all the fantastic shirts and jackets they are producing. The Kersey shirt is just a beautiful and SUPER comfy piece of clothing. Their flannels are top, the denim shirts amazing, and (as you mentioned) their overdyed garments STUNNING. I have an 18oz OD CPO, that I love. So yes, IH is special.

I don't like IH because of what seems to be an intentional proclivity towards fading. I know one of the things you said was that they are somehow more colorfast, but that is not what I see on the street. Basically, the fading seems accelerated for the purpose of winning fading competitions when all I want is a long lasting, soft fading, comfortable selvedge denim. I would now add stretch to that list, as well.

I wanted a pair so bad but I didn't want to look like what we considered the enemy and most importantly I couldn't dream of affording them. It's cool that you like that Vaer tropic because I have it and it makes me interested in it again. I have the first edition of it with the bracelet. It's very cool looking watch but a little hard to read sometimes if you're in a hurry.

It's a fantastic piece! I haven't had too much problems with readability but every now and then I need to stop and take a second

Great video. This has nothing to do with the video but could you do something on ponchos. I don’t know, that sounds like an interesting video.

Great video, Michael. I couldn't stop thinking your hair looked like Hugh Jackman/Wolverine the entire video. :)

But what about crash resistance? like what happens if you slide over the asphalt at 80KM/h? because lets be honest that's when the durability matters

Better than bare skin, and better than every other pair of jeans. They like it because it looks like a vintage pair of jeans that the first bikers would have worn while still being somewhat durable. Obviously they're not as protective as modern motorcycle jeans but they don't care.

I don’t know if it’s just me or what, but I find that most jeans just don’t last as long as I did when I was a teenager. And I was rougher on jeans when I was a kid than I am now. But I could have jeans all throughout high school unless I grew out of them, but as an adult every six months I’m replacing my jeans because there’s holes in the crotch ray sweat the most and they rub together. I’m not a fat guy. I’m 50 years old with a 36 inch waist 34 on a lucky day if I could really squeeze my gut in.

NUDIE JEANS CO. FOR LIFE! I’ve not owned a pair of Iron Heart though. Maybe in the future I’ll look into em. I’ve got too many nice jeans that I need to sell. I only wear two pair of jeans these days.

I'm going to Japan from Australia in October. I'm then dragging my wife and kids over an hour out of the way to Hachioji, just so I can visit the Iron Heart store and pick up a pair of jeans 😅
