Lee Canyon - Blue Trail - VEGAS Downhill MTB Park

First run of the Blue Trail out at Lee Canyon Downhill Mountain Bike Park located just outside of Las Vegas.
This Ski Resort is in its official First year of being fully open. Last year they had a soft opening with only two trails, a Blue and a Black. This season just got started and they are currently only allowing access to the two trails mentioned above. The Green Trail is in construction mode, hopefully slated to be open soon. I have no official word on an ETA. When I got my pass it was my understanding that there would be multiple trails opening up this year, we shall see.
The resort itself is located about 45 minutes from Vegas, of course that is dependent upon your driving style...
It provides an amazing escape from the Brutal summer temps that Vegas and other similar areas experience. Havasu is right at the top. We've been experiencing 120+ heat the last week or two which feels like the scene in Terminator where she's holding the chainlink fence or similarly to Total Recall.
My favorite trail is the Black, mostly because it's a bit more technical and more importantly...shorter! The Blue Trail literally wipes me out. About mid way through I start to feel the discomfort creep in and by the 3/4 mark I'm starting to reason with myself...making promises I can't keep hahaha. I believe it's a combination of being out of shape and also battling whatever it is that my body is. Fatigue and recovery seem to be the biggest targets.
I've been out of the KZbin game for a minute. Sharing this in the hopes that it helps someone make a decision to give it a go. For the person who is researching new places to visit or the Vegas Locals who have no idea what hides just up the mountain.
