Lee, the directorial feature from award-winning Cinematographer Ellen Kuras, portrays a pivotal decade in the life of American war correspondent and photographer, Lee Miller (Kate Winslet). Miller’s singular talent and unbridled tenacity resulted in some of the 20th century's most indelible images of war, including an iconic photo of Miller herself, posing defiantly in Hitler's private bathtub.
Miller had a profound understanding and empathy for women and the voiceless victims of war. Her images display both the fragility and ferocity of the human experience. Above all, the film shows how Miller lived her life at full-throttle in pursuit of truth, for which she paid a huge personal price, forcing her to confront a traumatic and deeply buried secret from her childhood.
Lee is produced by Kate Solomon, Kate Winslet, Troy Lum, Andrew Mason, Marie Savare, and Lauren Hantz. It is written by Liz Hannah, Marion Hume, and John Collee.
Lee opens in U.S. theaters on September 27, 2024.

For those wondering, yes, Lee Miller was actually present on the frontlines. The first time it happened though, it was due to a communications failure. She ended up witnessing the Americans assault the German port town of St. Malo. She was also the only combat photographer present in the area, male or female. As women journalists were typically forbidden from the frontlines, she was repremanded and temporarily arrested for going to the frontline.

Lee miller was serving (believe it or not, still serving), and leading the US military in all combat, humanitarian, scientific and journalistic discoveries and theaters. Based on the previous facts, she also led the Union army during the civil war and really single-handily abolished slavery, so that’s why they mention her during the civil war. Actually her and Joan de Arc are twins. True stories.

Thats the Soviets, not the US, the US was alot more consertative and only allowed Women in non combat roles, also its important to note that the Night Witches were given outdated planes and the “Tank operators” was one female tank commander who purchased a tank from stalin, it was quite literlally only one woman

First line is a lie, there absolutely WERE women in combat in WW2. At least in Europe and Slavic countries. Secondly, history is repeating. The same scale of hostilities, same atrocities are ongoing in Ukraine. PLEASE, don't forget about this!
