Blackwood is a medium-sized Australian hardwood that grows in South Australia and the eastern states. In the wetter areas of Tasmania it is grown in large volumes for commercial use. It is definitely an 'appearance timber', with a heartwood that is a rich golden brown.(as from The Net)

You know what? I own a 'fake worn' Heavy Relic Custom Shop Limited Edition Strat, it's amazing, and it's comfy with the wear. I'm a professional musician, and play it all the time. If people don't like it, and say it doesn't count, that's great! I love it, and I'm the one that had to spend over two and a half grand to have it. I really couldn't care less if you don't like my guitar, because I love it.

Lasse Huhtala looks like a futon I had in my basement 20 years ago. I wouldn't make a guitar out of it. Next year they will build them from broken pallets found next to the dumpster behind the factory and charge double. Who says the economy sucks.

I have nothing against Relic guitars however I would prefer the builder spend those 15-20 hours they used to relic the guitar on making the guitar sound incredible. I really don't need the cost of the guitar going up because we have to pay someone to beat the thing up.

Relic guitars are the ones that get a few dings in them during the manufacture process - instead of calling them production seconds and sending them out cheap, they purposely add a few more dings and scrapes and call them relics... BS in anyones language. A Squire will play and sound as good as any of these guitars for a tenth the price.

T.K. Back in the 70s there was a UK bass player who made a 13 string bass, the 13th string being a motorbike cable running down the back of the neck to counteract the incredible tension of the other 12. Can't remember his name unfortunately.
