Lee Scratch Perry is my favorite producer/mixer of all time across all music genres, but he was also an oddball 😄😄😄 Accounts also conflict regarding the demise of the Black Ark...Most writers attribute it anger fuelled by stress..The Congos were no demons 👹...Perry and the Congos had disputes regarding the marketing of the HEART...album including financial disagreements. We should remember the torching of the studio came much later than 77 when the album was released but after 78 during which time he released 2 further albums which marked the end of a magnificent era of Perry's incomparable work: Roast Fish Collie Weed and Corn (Magnificent album I recommend to every Roots fan) and The Return of the Super Ape...
