Lee… I’ve found if you use an untreated Douglas fur 4x4 post the deer seem to prefer that over a treated post. I’ve even taken a “electric chain saw” to round the post. And drill a 1/4 to 1/2 in hole 18 inches up and stuffing a pc cotton rope in the hole and adding fore head gland from Smokey’s!! THIS REALLY DRIVE THEM CRAZY late October till late November. I’ve been experimenting with this for years. I’ve just found they don’t prefer a treated post. I have however had luck with putting fore head gland on a telephone pole and the pictures are CRAZY! I’ve learned a lot from you over the years… this is me returning the favor. Good luck with your season.
