English/British kids are good enough to play in their own country @ domestic league(s). I THINK the problem is (and I don't know why) but domestic players command more cash for their services. Look @ players like H.Maguire or L.Shaw @ UTD for example. Their on eye watering cash PER WEEK because both can say their England Internationals, one of which has won the league. For what their on, I'd want a bit more on their CV. So might as well go to the continent, get someone unheard of who's got potential, fingers crossed he had one or two good seasons then sell him on for stupid money. In the modern game, most PL clubs can't afford to buy or keep (currently AVFC & J.Grelish, remember J.Rodwell & Everton, Scott Sinclair, Titus Bramble) half decent domestic talent and especially IF their not performing.

I remember thinking Goram would be snapped-up by one of the big english clubs after his performance that night but he wasnt - - what a shame, he deserved to be on a bigger stage !

Two great games and strange to think Howard Wilkinson was English manager to win the title

When Scottish teams decide that it is their time, they cause a lot of troubles to their English neighbours and they don't achieve less results than the English squads.

2-1 home and away , 4-2 on aggregate to the Scottish champions , the English press with there usual arogance gave rangers no chance , and Walter Smith plastered the dressing room walls with all the press cuttings , a big thankyou to the English gutter press ,

Yeah - he was viewed as a big ungainly target man. Judging by this performance, he was actually very skilful too

@@mattlamb1566 superb cross of the ball and excellent shot. He wasnt as tall as you think - hes 5 11. same height as me - i met him in a shop in Glasgow years ago. Nothing large about him - except bank balance.

@@mattlamb1566 Really, any footballer who has AC Milan and Monaco to a lesser extent on his cv is not going to be thought of as ungainly IMO.

Greg Ingram nah he was over 6ft, Wikipedia has him at 6ft3in but for all that he was more remembered for the hard time he’d give centre backs and winning the ball in the air but as could be seen here his footwork was excellent too, the dummy/touch to Durrant followed up by a perfect cross for the second goal demonstrate that
