@@1Hades0.0im also stuck between 200 and 390 and i would say go for 390 it will suit you better for longer rides and for highway riding. If it was more for commuting thru the city 125 or 200 is best. My vote goes to 390 and i will most likely get 390 since its more powerful

Picked the 200 up for my wife. Got the 390 for myself. Only complaint so far is that the clock does not keep time well, at all. Haven't found anything online indicating this is a common issue. The 200 needs a lot of throttle to get moving compared to other bikes. Nice weight. Easy to handle. Very responsive. I agree - the tires are awesome. I think it is the perfect beginner bike for my wife, who is 5' 4".

So I have owned my 2023 duke 200 for about 6 months tbh i crashed it the first day i got it cause I was too new to riding at the time thankfully the dealership where i bought it made sure I was taken care of and had it repaired etc then dropped it at my place roughly a month ago i took the brc with total control and got the confidence to get back on the duke and i have riden it since getting back on it. From being in a drenching downpour to down the highway right by my house at 60mph it definitely is a great motorcycle to start on. My only issue is the struggle to find good bags for it so I can carry a couple things with me to work on the bike instead of in a backpack. Outside for that complaint I love my duke and in all honest with riding over the past two weeks I have easily put 150 miles on it.

If you do it right the Duke 200 very much will walk itself with the clutch out. It will stall every time you do it from a stop but if you walk a little while letting the clutch out at the same time she'll walk on her own. Especially down hill once you get it going it will keep going. And the bike has ample power to walk itself clutch out because I have done it and I'm 6'1 and weight around 230ish.

@@JPARKERZ28 I was wrong on my size in the original comment I was 260 pounds when I was on the Duke. She hated my weight since I weighed almost as much as she did. They are fast as hell tho and fun but definitely on the sketchier side on whether or not they'll leak.

The Honda XR150L is coming to North America, and I was thinking that it would make a good 1st bike for me. Any thoughts? The KTM Duke 200 is basically the same price as one more gear, fuel injection, and a lot more tech. I'm wondering if the Honda would still be more reliable, even though it's a little slower and smaller? As an instructor, you've got a perfect excuse to go and test drive and buy one today! I really enjoyed this review. Thank you. Happy trails. IEdward in Irvine California

Looking to get into bikes so will be a new rider, biggish guy at 179cm 90kg (5,11 198pounds for you Americans). Question is would a 200 be to small for someone like me? And how do they compare to the Yamaha Mt 03 and 07 range? Thanks in advanced. (also note I live in the hills so not much highway riding would be done)
@leeridefar
@leeridefar 2 жыл бұрын
Toby. If you can find a good deal on the KTM 200 go for it. If you can afford to spend more on MT 03 do that. The MT 07 would be great too. As long as you’re not doing sustained long highway riding the KTM 200 will be great for you. I am 100 kg and 190 cm tall and I was quite comfortable riding the KTM 200 around.

Depends on how long your legs are. If your in seam is 26in or 66cm you will be on your toes. However, motorcycle boots with a thicker sole will help a lot. It is a better bike for shorter riders. So is the Yamaha MT 03

I could be wrong about this Stats, as I only looked up two sources. You said the Duke 200 weights 275lbs, correct.? I see it listed at 140kgs which is 308lbs, right.? The 2020 Duke 390 is listed at 149kgs, which is 328lbs. Do you think this is a significant difference.? I say it's not.! Next, I looked-up the seat height to be 823mm, which equals 32.4" (did you said it was 31", I need to re-watch this video) Did you know the 2020 Duke 390 is 830mm, or 32.6" again I don't feel 7mm difference is that significant. The Duke 200, has 19 kW or 25 HP, while the 390 has 32 kW aka 43.4 HP. The Duke 200 has the old 390 gauges (not the new fancy colour TFT display) The old 390 headlight, (with no heat-sink) so for me, the Duke 200 is NOT WORTH it. Give it 3-years, when we will start to see some used, perhaps then it can be an option as the Used Price should be far less then the Used Price of a 390 Duke (which is only 373cc, I know) I wanted the Duke 200 to be similar to the Grom in weight (225lbs) and seat height of 29.9".
@leeridefar
@leeridefar 3 жыл бұрын
Weight difference is no significant. However every pound counts the lower the weight. Seat height is 31.9in. The point nine did not come through in the audio enough. Is a stand sporty bike height. Only the Z400 is lower at 30.9in which isn’t much but again every bit counts. The TFT display is nice but if you’re a newer rider. Stop looking down :) Given the popularity of the Duke 390 and the Duke 200 being unknown. There are deals there. Better value for the Duke 200 Currently. Both the Duke 200 and the Duke 390 are not bikes riders will ride for a long period of time. They’ll ride it and move on. Good points to bring up Angel!

Anyway you could do a Duke 200 vs 390 video Lee.? I have owned a; Grom, CBR 125, VanVan 200, Konker KSM 200, DR 200 as well as every 300cc Class Sport Bike and also KTM RC 390. Based on this, I think I have a pretty good idea what a 200cc Sport Bike should be. The Duke 200 is a FAIL bcz the seat height is a bit too high and the weight is bit too much and the Price is much too expensive (but should be reasonable in about 3-years as a used Bike)

Lee, I feel it's currently NOT WORTH IT, and a let down model, here in Canada. One of the biggest factors for me is the Price vs Value and this scores very low for me. I'll never buy a brand new bike, as they deprecate so quickly the day they leave the dealership, so I don't know the MSRP's of any motorcycles. Did you say they are $4000 brand new with 0 kms out the door.? Did you say you paid $3000 for yours? How many kms did your have when you bought it.? I dont see ANY USED at all, here in Alberta. Let's compare it to the Duke 390; I can buy a 2015 Duke 390 for less, however the Duke 200 was only available in Canada in 2020 I believe, so to be fair, lets compare it to a 2020 Duke 390...
