I bought this nice three-person boat to row or used a motor for lake leisure and fishing. I want to show you a complete setup of the boat and rowing it. I do have the battery and motor that I used from time to time, and it works wonderfully.

A great day to be out on a great boat! 4:25: The built-in fishing-rod holder on the bow looks different from the other one; how come? Longer rowing strokes would allow you to advance smoothly and consistently while saving energy. Are you still happy with the boat, one year later?
@LeeThoeun
@LeeThoeun Жыл бұрын
Not really. This boat gave me some problems; punctures and a bit heavy and had to setup. I already went with something else.
@hntrains2
@hntrains2 Жыл бұрын
@@LeeThoeun, it is heavy: it is made of thick PVC (other options would have led to a much higher price) and the floor is made of hard plastic, which increases the overall weight of the boat by about ten kilograms (that alone is more than some boats weigh). Because of how heavy the boat is, it stays very well on the water, which it is very stable on. Setup can take some time, but that is an issue only when you are in a hurry. (Who is in a hurry when he goes to a river or lake to row and enjoy himself? Who cannot spare ten minutes to inflate a boat - and, thus, through the physical exercise, get a bit fitter?) Finally, the boat does puncture; but that can be solved in a few minutes with the self-adhesive patches Intex makes (they are extremely efficient if applied well). Later on, of course, one can add extra patches, using special glue, if the puncture or cut is in an area which constantly takes abuse. The tubes, though, are hard to pierce. I am curious how many punctures were too many for you. (I have had more than one hundred - I have used the boat both intensively and to cover very long distances - and I still hope I will be able to use it a number of years more.) That said, what boat have you moved to?

Thanks for sharing your experience with this boat. I've moved on to Bris Pontoon Boat now. It's less than a grand and very stable. The boat is made out of thicker material. I went over a very sharp stump on the water, and it was fine. I love it @ Fishing at Lake Geneva and Catching lots of TROUT | Federal Way, WA kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5S4dHusn5ytqck

@@LeeThoeun, thank you - including for the link! That is a type of boat which is not really meant for rowing; but that little motor will take you mostly anywhere you need to go.

You're welcome. And you are right. It's a bit hard to row, but I had to do it a couple of times when the motor caught a bunch of fishing lines and stalled. It was in the middle of the lake too :) A good workout for sure while telling my wife on the boat with me that it will be okay. I'll get us to the shore safely 👍

I recently picked up the Mariner 4 for the Fam and myself. We love it. Have you invested in a trolling motor yet? I'm thinking it might make fishing a little easier for me and the little guys...

That's awesome, Mike! It's a great boat! I was going to buy the Mariner 4; I thought it’s too big for just two people. So, I scaled back to Mariner 3. I love it. Yes, I'm using the Minn Kota 30 lbs thrust trolling motor. It's a bit slow, but it does the job.

You can, in calm water. But, I think it's a little too small for the sea though.
