The whole point of this channel is I give honest reviews of products, good or bad. That means that if I say I like a product, you should expect that I really do like the product. I've been using these gear drives for over 4 months now and waited until now to make a video about them - until I had formed a proper opinion about them. I have an affiliate code because making videos is expensive, over $100 in costs per month just for editing software and music licences before you add in the equipment and the components I buy to make videos. There are many options and they are not all the same. I wanna hear someone I can trust (not the manufacturer) talk about them, mention positives, negatives, compare... the more the better imo.

I ordered both the 10t and the 12t pinion gears, trying to find the sweet spot between torque and speed. Do you think I will notice a significant loss of torque with the 12t vs the 10t? (Still a work in progress, but most likely 12s6p, stormcore60, and 190kv 6374 motors)

Nice video Lee I have my own picture guide (can be found on my website) that details certain areas that Lee wasn't able to cover. The clamp in this video was designed for non-CNC hangers, but as shown in the video it can also be used on CNC hangers if you are patient. CNC hangers have a slightly smaller profile and there will soon be a dedicated clamp for each hanger. This will ensure best fitment on the two types of hangers. One key note, please allow 24 hours for the Loctite to cure before you start riding. You are also fine to run the drives without grease on your maiden voyage, this will help if you need to tweak anything inside the gearbox after your first ride.

Great vid - really enjoyed the intro. The one thing is that you forgot to mention to make sure to cover all the holes in the motor when cutting the shaft to prevent the ingress of metal particles.

Moon has a solution coming where he will allow for longer motor shafts, but currently cutting is your best option

I might have a suggestion for loctite. The thread must be free from grease and other debris. Brake cleaner is suitable for this.

Is the carbon cover acting as a sound body? Perhaps a layer of glue/rubber to reduce noise? Also: why have 4 grub screws per hanger bracket? Would 2 not increase the contact surface?

I have no experience with the boardnamics gear drives I'm afraid so I can't offer any advice. All I can say is I have been using the moon drives for 3 months and love them
