While I love Capac dearly, it's been frustrating waiting for him to do a thorough walk-through of the ship to eliminate whatever block/blocks was/were allowing someone to actively control it and sabotage the team. Li-i-i-itle bit late in the game, but maybe he'll learn an appropriate level of paranoia from this life lesson. Another lesson? Always put some Ion Thrusters on your medium-to-long-range Hydrogen spacecraft. It doesn't need to be a lot, but having SOME method of maneuvering as a backup when you're low/out of hydrogen will save your bacon and let you avoid running directly into trouble for which you're not equipped to deal. Just sayin'. YMMV. Live long and prosper.🖖

To save you some frustration, some of these weird "accidents" have been "scripted" to create interesting situations to play through. If you rewatch you may notice the builder of said cockpit hidden on the ship was Splitsie. Also remember a single jump drive can't warp a ship anywhere near 20000km. They knew what was going on and likely specifically modified jump drives for this "scene." Once they reach a point of too much comfort in these playthroughs they tend to engineer situations to bring them back down a peg to keep things interesting, for them and us. That gold needed to disappear, and they found a fun way to make it disappear.

Possessed as heck. It really took them a while to start investigating what's going on. I would not believe in it normally, but with those two... it is actually possible they were really oblivious to what is happening. It is a pitty they lost a ship. I was hoping some pirates would take them into custody and thank them for all the gold they brought with them. Also, TFE... you came to a trade station and got spooked by a poor customer. I wouldn't be surprised you two are now wanted for terrorism or something.

I think it would be really keen if KEEN added some sort of in-suit or man-portable mini survival kit that you could power with the store batteries. It would make a true "suit only" start feasible. Make it super slow and accept only stone, maybe a few kilos at a time, with no output storage (just spits out basic components).

I was so expecting the tree to disintegrate while you were taking on that base. In a rewatch of Unlikely right now, and seeing the moon battle, where the crater eats more bullets than the enemy for the first while, and after seeing that, then this, I expected poor fortune. This episode is too epically funny. It's 50 minutes of a desperate slow death, with hours of mined gold hanging in the balance. I was so sleepy I didn't fully realize all the shenanigans of the "ghost", but I knew someone had to be in the ship. If this was fully scripted it wouldn't be as funny. When the jump drive engages it gave me a sinking feeling: Splitsie is never going to play with his gold again. The ship looked so small for all the shenanigans the "ghost" pulled off though. Its just hilarious. Amazing as always!

You can make setups with hinges (or rotors with a restricted movement) also unmanaged. Just use 4 event controllers. 2 flip the movement, 2 extend the pistons a bit everytime the setup does a flip.

Well. that's one way to get rid of some gold 🙁 There might be one other option for Capac and TFE besides taking over ships: Buy the components from the station to build at least a small grid survival kit, battery and solar panel. If possible, equip this with thrusters, a gyroscope, a remote control and cargo containers. It doesn't need to be or look like a fully functional ship to get you started. The base has oxygen and hydrogen that you can buy, so you're not going to suffocate or lose jetpacking ability. Then start by hand-mining stone and work you way up 👍 I'm curious in how many weeks Splitsie will finally receive the information that his gold was lost in transit... I'm sure he won't be too happy about it. And Capac: The direction you're flying in doesn't really matter. At 100 m/s, you would need over 55 days flying in a straight line to get back. At 150 m/s it's still over 37 days. If you really want to do that, remember to build a ship that's large enough to carry enough snacks 😅

I try to include a few ion manoeuvring thrusters in any ship I build, just so I can get some movement if I run out of Hydrogen. You really only need 1 in each direction, so 6 in total and as he's been scrapping that ship that crashed with all those ion thrusters on board, they are basically free to build.

Just one away from the big triple digits. Y'know, I still think hydrogen tanks should be lighter when full. Unrealistic in space, whatever, it'd be funny and interesting. It seems the quest for gold endlessly continues. Guess you'll need a heavier lifter to go planetside again with the whole Van Go in tow or something. Or perhaps it'll just have a thrust frame by this point you can leave at the drill whenever you go dragging someone's whole facility to the trade station.

Either way it's become very frustrating to watch that you get nothing done, or if it looks like you'll get anything done then immediately you'll goof it up or get griefed to hell and beyond (does your game even have actual computer controlled drones or is it all player npcs now?) so it's back to square one. the last time things were this bad was while watching "Worst Pirates Ever" (ep 66 and also 67), which was in such a stark contrast with the next episode (68) where the player NPCs took a break and suddenly things were getting done. And before that when watching the entire trio of you, Capac and TFE getting obliterated by a drone from TFE's own mod (Vigilante from Weyland-Yutani). It was made worse by TFE designing a ship where he's bound to show the biggest profile (broadest side) to any enemies pursuing (which subsequently led to a lot of hits taken). It could be that I started watching "Survival... Maybe?", and the more "directed" nature of a solo series (which is present in Scrapyard Survival too) works better for me than the random zigzag/treadmill of AA.

I hate to criticize this otherwise stellar series, but it was actually kind of hard to watch Capac playing "dumb" the whole time, when he could clearly see what's going on. Sure his character is kind of oblivious, but his unique draw is his recklessness rather than pure ignorance. I know the story had to go on, but if there were hints that he knew *some* of what was going on yet was powerless to stop it, the whole experience would have been more palatable for me as a viewer. Still a fantastic series, but this was just a bit of a low point.

Capac still hasn't learnt to read that bit of the screen that gives extra info about a block. One of the things to remember about him is that the moment he has a little bit of panic, he's completely myopic and wouldn't see a snake just barely to the left of his field of vision. We're all like it a bit, but Capac takes it to the next level :D

You're making some HUGE assumptions there - the big one being, that this was planned. This is just what happens when you leave Capac without supervision (also, the attacks they faced, weren't planned, that's just the NPC mods doing what they do and Capac never arming things he builds). If this was scripted I'd avoid constant setbacks because it can mess with momentum

The thing is, there really isn't any scripting. Just real people being able to act as dungeon/game master or a random NPC. But then you get things like those shipped that attacked the guys and were 100% a random spawn 😂
