@@April-bu1th I have the 3 that Kirk Cameron produced or was in as Buck, I absolutely enjoyed these. I wish they had covered only maybe 2 books max in each one and continued the series to the end, but they kept the feel of the books. The newer ones I did not like at all, in the newer one, they spent an entire movie practically on the plane when the rapture first occurs, this one has Nicholas Cage as Capt Steel. The newest one that Kevin Sorbos plays Capt Steele, was very slow paced and boring I completely lost interest while I was watching it, and I love the Left Behind series. This series is so powerful, in my opinion.

The final scene of the 3rd book or in the "previously" section on this book gave me chills. Ray just straight up confronting Carpathia with saying "Explain this away. You'll say it was a natural disaster. You'll use it for your own good. But I want to be the first one to tell you, Carpathia, you have just seen the wrath of the Lamb!" My respect for Ray went straight up after that. Idk if I'd have the guts confronting the guy I know is the Antichrist after a judgement and explain to him that this was the wrath of the Lamb. It even sounded like Rey either punched him, put him up against wall, or threw him down restraining him. That took guts. I wouldn't have been able to admit to the Antichrist that I knew who he really was.

I’m torn. I signed up for KZbin Premium and I very much enjoy listening ad free ($11.99) and yet all of the Big Tech oligarchies are doing their best to silence Christian and conservative voices. I also once heard Tim Cook of Apple say that “hateful” voices were not welcome on his platform. I’m okay using an iPhone and utilizing KZbin to spread the Gospel and hear conservative content. Hold up. First scene. So, Rayford Steele has taken his plane off before Nicolae was buckled in, knocking him over (2nd or 3rd book). Nicolae shrugs it off. Now we’ve escalated to Rayford physically assaulting the Antichrist and the dastardly Man of Sin/Beast from the Sea/Lawless One/Nero 2: Electric Boogaloo…forgives him. Doesn’t even dock his pay. I’m less “oh wow, Rayford is so brave!” and more “oh wow, Nicolae is…a weirdly chill person, not even a Christian but somehow embodying the hardest commandment, to love your enemies, with aplomb, somebody should tell him the Good News!” Like, I can’t imagine any head of state - even one who doesn’t allegedly drink the blood of the innocent and have Satan whispering in their ear - responding to an attack with ‘eh, I’ll just turn the other cheek.’ Also. Rayford, I hate to tell you this. But even if Nicolae did know the Wrath of the Lamb was coming? So did you. And elephant in the room? Rayford. God did this. God killed your (spoiler alert) second wife, I know these books don’t want to discuss theodicy, but rightfully or wrongfully, God killed Amanda. He killed all those people in the earthquake. Every ounce of suffering described? God did that. Nicolae had nothing to do with that. And why did Rayford snap? The last straw? Nicolae wanting a working phone after a disaster isn’t peak evil. He’s head of state and like, he has a big mess to clean up - believe it or not, I don’t think any of us wants our leaders to curl into a ball and have a breakdown during a disaster, we probably want them to pull a Nicolae and immediately start organizing rescue. Something Nicolae is apparently crazy good at doing. God is throwing the murderous temper tantrums to end all murderous temper tantrums, and somehow the trains always run on time anyway. I want to hate the Antichrist, I feel like the writers want me to hate the antichrist, but the antichrist staying on the ball and immediately wanting to clean up God’s mess even while he’s worried about his best friend (his concern over Leon seems genuine!) is…not the indictment Jerry Jenkins thinks it is. At least it’s not an indictment against Nicolae. The Left Behind God, however…

I find these books interesting as action novels, but if anything it makes me feel more empathetic towards Carpathia, he’s trying to hold a crumbling world together, maybe that’s why in the later books they turn him and Leon into bumbling buffoons and just plain vicious, as a way of removing any sympathy for such characters. Fortunately the ideology and Christian interpretations peddled in these books are a relatively new phenomenon which are held primarily in American Christianity. There’s a good video that goes over the books and films called “left behind and the translation of god” by Renegade Cut, it’s a bit long but a good’un at finding out where all this comes from and taking apart Left Behind

The bible is full of prophecies and things that are up to interpretation. There are however three things the bible doesnt leave to interpretation. 1st. The temptation and the fall of man and the results thereof 2nd. Everyone is a sinner whether you murder kids or steal candy from a gas station; tell a white lie to your kids about santa being real, or cheat on your wife of 40 years; lust after your neighbors daughter whos 16 or become jealous of your best friend having a new fancy car. Sin is sin and no one is free from it. No sin is greater or lesser than the other and everyone is guilty of it. And the price of that sin, all sin no matter what it is, is your life. 3rd. The events that occur during the last literal 7 years of the age of man and sin. While the books are religious fiction they are based off of the very literally described events of the end times in the bible. Now that being said whether you believe the bible is truth or fiction, these books are very very entertaining.

Peculiar characterization and odd choices on the part of the authors, but I read all sixteen books, so there must've been something there I found amusing, ha ha. But I respectfully disagree with your third point. The Bible leaves much room for interpretation as to what happens in the "last 7 years" under the "man of sin." We could fill colosseums with religious scholars who would be willing to have a fistfight over the following points: 1.) Rapture? Is it a thing? Is it pre-wrath? Post-wrath? The Bible never uses the word 'rapture' and certainly the book of Revelation, allegedly the most clear-cut book on End Times Prophecy, doesn't mention anything about it. 2.) Antichrist. Is he a thing? Is he a literal being or is it just a term for any group of people who don't believe that Jesus is the son of God? 3.) The book of Daniel. Prophecy, for sure, but have they already been fulfilled? Is the Man of Sin Antichrist or Antiochus? And that's just off the top of my head. Even people who take the book of Revelation "literally" have to admit that they don't really take it literally: even Jerry Jenkins doesn't have Nicolae be a literal beast with seven heads who rises from the sea. They say that the beast is a metaphor. Inherently up for interpretation. This "seven year prophecy end times" interpretation is relatively new, coming in the West in about the 19th century. Still relatively unheard of in Eastern Churches, and I wouldn't ever say that someone keeping their faith in Christ in North Korea isn't a Christian simply because when they covertly read the book of Revelation, they see a general message of hope for the oppressed rather than a timetable of horrors for a generation that might not even be born yet. The important part of Christianity is Christ, not antichrist. That's my main beef with these books: in the novels (I haven't listened to all of the radio drama yet), the characters start getting more excited about seeing antichrist thrown into the lake of fire than they are about seeing Jesus Christ Himself appear in the clouds and begin establishing his kingdom. Antichrist usurps Christ in attention. I know a tree from its fruits, and that there is some tainted fruit.
