The progression here is simply amazing. From the solely gun collector channel that's more of a dog person. To the 'feral cat' outside that came for a visit. To having a small shelter for 'the cat' outside. To having 'your cat cinnabon' stay in his little house and sometimes play. To having 'your baby' relax inside and make a home on that blanket watching movies. To now, where dogs are too much work and cinnabon is your perfect company. Truly a beautiful thing.

Omg he's SO HAPPY and relaxed and feels SO safe inside! He can't rest well outside at night Lex. The woods are full of predators. Please start keeping him in at night! This is why he sleeps so deeply in his chair -he cannot rest deeply outside, even in his house as any animal can come up on him. Inside he is still alert to any sounds but knows he is free of danger. I guarantee you he will hold himself to go outside to potty.

I have to agree that Cinnabon is not safe being left outside....my sister's Maine Coon got into a horrific fight with "something" in the woods and was nearly torn apart when he limped home. had to have surgery. Main Coon breeders will insist with new owners that they cannot buy their cats without a promise to never let them outside. I know he is feral but hopefully, he wasn't always that way and is more a stray than a forever feral. Maybe giving him his way is not always the best now that he is a part of your family and his welfare is in your hands.

Plus , there so many factors that being outdoor shorten their lives ! Natural predators & manmade predators, like traps ,oil spills, chemical spills, insecticides that can kill cats easily ! Rat poisons ! Diseases like feline leukemia & aids ! Parvovirus is another scary one ! RABIES rare ,though ! Cars .( hope they are not near ,but not sure if Lex had stated that) . And important facts that CATS ARE NOT WILD ANIMALS ,they are DOMESTICATED animals !!! They are VERY TERRITORIAL so that they usually stay in 100 feet away from home ! They don't roam around like tigers & cougars & lions ! Lol. Even though they ( especially orange cats have tiger's gene like 96%! In them ! How COOL IS THAT !?) have the natural instincts remained in them ! They hate movings ,even ! Animals like cats & dogs also feel safe inside of a small thing like boxes & dog houses ( of course they shouldn't be in there 24/7 !!!) Dogs need exercises depends on the breeds ,some need a lot & others don't ! Cats don't need to walk around!!! They need the vertical exercises meaning jumps ! They need to jump high vertically everyday ! That's what keep them healthy & young ,not roaming/ walking ! That's a huge difference between cats & other animals !!!💜💙❤💞😻

SO HAPPY you're trusting him to stay inside! I love how excited you were by his good behavior! You will not have any 'mess' from him. Cats aren't like dogs! If he has to potty, he will hold it for hours until let out unless you have a litter box where he will go only. Cats are super clean and smart and will never mess up inside. Only exception is when box is full (they look for a place to bury their waste like under a scatter rug) or when they feel threatened in their home (like when the dog was there) and may spray to mark their territory. Many cats can have milk. Try some goat milk or even raw milk! He'll go crazy! Just a little until you see he's good with it. It's such a delightful treat and something he loves! You are a WONDERFUL daddy! I'm so excited in the dead of winter you'll let him stay inside at night -where it's not just miserable outside but very very dangerous at night as one of the few warm things for predators. So happy C found you! 🐱💗

Cats need 1 small can of wet food daily. I used to give my Maine Coon only dry food. Formed bladder stones that ended up being a $650 surgery. The vet said give wet food to ensure good balance and they won’t form stones. Look on the can, and keep the ash content below 3%. Cinnabon... ❤️❤️❤️

A very well said comment I LOVE ! Yes yes yes to all you said here ! But, one thing maybe it's not always tge case is low maintenance...it depends . Of course not that we have to walk them everyday like dogs ! ( I love them ,too !!!) Cats are more more sensitive than people think ! And we have to be very careful about our surroundings & enviroments more for cats than dogs ! Cats are sheer carnivores, the most plants ,veggies are toxic to them ! Many cat people have indoor tropical plants & their cats often get sick having no clues ! As they are eating those plants which are toxic causing them diarrhea & throw ups ! Essential oils can make them sick !( I knew but not that much til very recently !) They are very TERRITORIAL so HATE MOVING ! That stress them out .Phenoxyethanol is accumulatively toxic as sodium of benzoate ( same as benzoate sodium ). So on. We don't have to worry about those much w/ dogs ! Oh ! Floss threads even become fatal thing for cats ! As they love stringy things & they play w/ them ! They can died from eating them ! It can twist & turn their stomachs !( for dogs & others,too ,though !). So many to worry about !

I live in Michigan too! Yes dogs are alot of work, I have 2 dog & 3 cats ( in door cats) cats are chill, food, water, & litter! They can be left for periods of time if they have plenty full! But dogs on the other hand is different! Anyway enjoy your time with Cinnabon, animals are precious? 💕🐾💕

If you got a Litter-Robot, it would keep a clean litter box for you with no smell. It would only need emptied out once a week and you can use regular kitchen garbage bags (so no special bag needed) for the drawer. I mention this as then you could keep him inside other than walks. It would be safer for him. I have an indoor-outdoor cat and finally transitioned her to indoors only 3 years ago with the Litter-Robot.

Have you heard of the Ragdoll cat? Now THERE'S a "dog-like" cat. They play fetch and follow you EVERYWHERE (including to the bathroom when you do your business). Very friendly and affectionate. One of the best family cats in my opinion. So glad you love Cinnabon like you do.

i heard from another cat channel that leaving the tv running while you're out helps cats relax. a little because it's a common noise when you're in the house. some of them even find it entertaining 😁and they sell "cat tv" dvds which are basically films of birds and fish and squirrels etc or you could just look them up online and stream them. though maybe cinnabon won't find them interesting because every day he sees the real thing 😉
