@reezlaw for me, if the panelists start yelling and arguing with each other, I turn it off pretty fast. But if they actually have a discussion, I can listen to the whole thing, but I usually have to break it up. I'm a tattoo artist, and sometimes my clients are totally cool and they like listening to Destiny too. The Sunday guy really made me want to stop listening, but luckily he didn't talk much.

I realized that one issue that President Sunday encapsulates about certain figures on the left, which I never could put into words, is that he becomes so combative, petulant, and sometimes just flat out wrong that I spend more time disliking him as a person rather than being able to figure out what he actually believes. He rarely makes a declaration of his belief, and seemingly sprinkles it into his constant bitching to the point where I stop caring what he has to say and am probably ascribing positions he holds which I don't like, without realizing I'm doing it.

Many of these people Destiny surrounds himself with are so ideologically entrenched. If progressives want more political capital, they need to hedge their bets, tone down the rhetoric and be reasonable in places. I'm sure Destiny does this on specific issues to appeal to the other side of the political aisle. It's simple: "You get more flies with Honey than with vinegar."

Wu @ 1:52:26 ... Focus on something like gay marriage like a spear to get other things for the LGBT community like they did in the 90s? That's not what happened back then though. Not having a group coalition led to gay men abandoning the rest of the fractured groups when they got their marriage rights. That's a big part of WHY the LGBT community exists now in the form it does and why the same fights are still happening decades later.

So around the 50 minute mark Destiny talked about how left wing creators don't do enough politically and Briana says it's partly because the right is more organized. I don't think that's true. I think the right just have a stronger connection to their actual beliefs whereas on the left it really feels like a lot of these people are more interested in the aesthetic and social benefit of adopting a progressive ideology. In other words, a lot of lefties are just trying this stuff on for size because it looks good, and people on the right certainly do that as well, but I think they generally tend to be more personally invested in their own ideology as an actual moral framework.

Well there's a little truth to it, I'd say a lot of it is actually that right-leaning people tend to be more community driven, probably historically due to being in more rural areas and small towns where you know everyone and typically get along with everyone, you kind of have to. As a result they're much more driven to community actions because they actually know their neighbors. Not through some top-down organization, but just through conservative politics inherently being more 'isolationist' and driven by smaller communities which encourage action. A small town knows their police chief and their local governor because they probably see him every now and then. A huge city, no shot. He's not walking around meeting people. And yeah there's also the aesthetics of the ideology. It's easy to be a leftist because you're often calling for such broad changes that you can excuse your lack of action by appealing to how big the problems are. It feels like almost the only thing the right consider too big to have a personal effect on the economy as a whole. Even down to huge topics like immigration and police reform they push self-defense for individuals as an action towards the broader change they'd like. They want more police, instead of whining about it, they encourage people to exercise their 2nd amendment rights and then either you no longer need police because criminals are aware that people will self-police, or the police are forced to step in because they don't want people to self-police.

I think that these panels, while there should definitely be space for clarification, really need to start cracking down on the semantics game of asking people over and over again to clarify or redefine the same words. 2:42:02 - A perfect example of destinys point here is in Scotland. The independence movement was really strong and had a majority in polls but then the ruling party, the SNP(Scottish National Party) tried to shoehorn in a Gender Recognition Bill that would allow, 16 year olds to have surgery and males in prison for sexual assault to abuse the system to be put in woman's prisons. The vast majority of the public was against this and the SNP did not listen. They prioritised the rights of the minority over the rights of 50% of the population and the people let it be known they weren't happy till the point the UK gov had to step in to put an end to the madness. All Independence polls are tanking bigtime now and our first minister who's in charge of devolved powers just resigned before her term end after 8 years in charge. Most people aren't against trans in general. It's the fact it wasn't discussed with groups who were against it. All criticism was ignored and today the SNP paid the price. In the words of our ex first minister who was in charge during our last independence vote. This single issue has set Scottish independence back 30 years.
