Thank you SO much for this video! I was diagnosed with 2 bulged discs, on the L4 and L5 and it was a rough journey. I was looking for a way to tone my legs now that I can workout, so ty so much!

Please do more for lower back, full follow alongs, including warm up and cool down. Love all you are teaching about what to do and not do with disc bulge or other lumbar issues. Thank you. 🎉

If you have a bulging disc you shouldnt do anything with weights pulling down your spine. Regardless if squats or front barbel squats. Also you should avoid leaning any derection...so good mornings are a no go to bro. How i know that? I have bulging discs and i did everything...Do leg extensions, hamstrings cursl, hip exercises...lying on the floor or on a machine....lunges etc. But dont put weight on your spine and dont bend the spine to much. It wont be good.

What you’re saying sir absolute facts. I literally today tried doing front squats, leg press both angles and couldn’t do a single one without pain and discomfort. So instead I just did Bulgarian split squats, lying leg curls reverse lunges, splinter lunges and all were a comfortable option for a workout. So I totally agree with this statement

God it pains me to admit how right you are... Disk buldges and hernias are some of the most irritating injuries an active person can get literally at any moment, and once you do it irreversably and permanently destroys your habits and daily life in a blink of an eye. And no matter how many physical therapies you do, how many McGill 3 exercises you perform, no matter how much you strengthen your core... You will always and forever be a literal invalid that is one sneeze, one simple being movement, one miss step on a staircase and one rotation away from getting reinjured and back to suffering the original pain levels... I despise this so much and it has literally ruined my life in the last 3 months

Good advice, with the exception of any hamstring work, so no good mornings, d.lifts or rdls. Bending causes flexion which will compress the spine. Also hamstring work can activate the sciatic nerve causing pain within the disc.

Not going to lie I’m scared of any type of deadlift , I hurt myself so bad at the gym doing this. Then I got a disc bulge because of this and also I got detected with spinal cord arthritis 😕I liked the hanging static lunge. I would add this to my workout. Thankyou!

Doing rdls instead of conventional helped me. But still unnecessary if you do leg curls/hip thrusts/hyperextensions. Theres many ways to hit low back or hammies that arent deadlifts.

Excellent working except the last one for hamstring if you have herniated disk history or back problems I would avoid bending forward with weight.

Kettlebells how about the bending over with 45 Pound Barbell on the back "Good Mornings." My back hurt just watching that one! But I like what you said about "you don't have to do them and most probably shouldn't! Another Great Video!

Instead of good mornings maybe do hyperextensions. I have a bulging disc and the leg exercises that cause no acute pain are squats, hip thrusts, leg curls, hacksquats. The lifts that hurt are deadlifts and leg press machine.

Great video, as always. I have similar injuries to you and my experience is similar to yours. No chronic pain for the last 4 years due to smart exercising and I do legs twice a week. I use the step elliptical machine in the same manner that you use the bike in this video but I'm actually not sure if the step elliptical is a positive thing to use for our type of injuries. What are you thoughts please?

This is misleading. I really gotta say. His back must not have been that bad. Good mornings? Absolutely forget that one’. And those deadlifts….. yikes. MAYBE single legs RDLS with a low weight and good form can be included at some point but that is still a HUGE maybe.
