This interview brought back fond memories of my time at Northern Cape Command, Kimberley... when Col Adams mentioned Brig Vos Benade. He was my Command OC (Brig Benade) in my time in NCC, and some of the best times of my life as a young officer. Was in his office many times. Can still remember my room at Jack Hindon's. I was privileged in being part of the team that escorted 31Btn back to Schmidtdrift. Thank you for the great stories of remembrance Colonel Adams! Salute!

In retrospect, and ironically, the SADF was a leader in diversity management and racial integration. Certainly ahead of even the corporate business sector of the time. As a 19 year old infantry officer and later CF officer, I was fortunate enough to be exposed to some excellent senior regular officers. It taught me so much. Colonel Adams interview reminded me of that. I am proud to have served in a progressive, world class and professional organisation, the SADF. The legacy will never be forgotten in the sands of time.
