@@Gei4Mei If Hasbro cared about that subline as in originally it was all about Bumblebee related stuff then it make sense for a repaint Shadow Striker in that line cos she was like Bee rivial and had vendetta against him! Also another thing that kinda bother me is that with that legacy version, she has the monocle eye but she only had that when being put back together by Soundwave! I know she's pretool to Sideburn whose has the monocle but still they were not fully committed to this character!

Someone eventually pointed out the "Busty" fan mode. Fold out the middle to fill the hole, it ironically work and don't effect the waist movement. 😅

I find the quirks of this figure kinda elevate the experience for me in a funny way. It feels appropriate that shadow striker should have a mismatched aesthetic, at least in my eyes. I even like the way the car flaps on her back form a pretty convincing cape, and the car roof is a better shield than most fugues get. Thanks to the window you can pose her holding it up in front of her, with the window at eye level like a proper riot shield. It is weird how easy the back is untangle considering how nicely it clicks into place going into robot mode. Interestingly, somebody did a custom paint job to more closely resemble her cyberverse colors, and all of her limbs are concealed in vehicle mode, so I think a more show accurate repaint in genselects or buzz worthy bee is far from unlikely. Of the most recent wave of figures, it’s shadow striker and strongarm I find myself transforming the most. I just think they’re both really solid, well designed figures.

I said something like that in an earlier draft of this review, about how the Sideburn mold is asymmetrical too, which makes the character usage more appropriate. But I kinda thought it was irrelevant to the greater argument I was making, that she deserved her own mold instead. I’m glad you enjoy the figure, it is definitely fun to play with ☺️

I have the theory that Axlegrease was supposed to be Shadow Striker until they decided her to be a pretool to Sideburn because they thought a new character wouldn't sell well.

That would make even LESS sense, Axelgrease was a retool of a completely original to the toyline character, one made specifically to fit with and established aesthetic (Junkion) and an establish play pattern (weaponizer). Nothing about Axelgrease's design indicates there was ever any connection to Shadow-Striker, designing her to more resemble her original namesake at least has precedent

This figure was almost perfect... after you modified her. Firstly, I clipped and shaved off all the pegs. Made a big difference in how it holds together. However, my bumper piece came slightly warped lol.

One thing I do sincerely appreciate about this figure is that they kept the exaggerated proportions of Cyberverse. Her waist is thin, and her torso/chest and hips are wide. I'd say she even does it better than any of the animated figures so far!

I really liked both RID Sideburn's and Cyberverse Shadowe Striker's designs in both vehicle and robot modes. And while I'm glad we're getting both of them in a new toyline, this mold just doesn't do it for me in any way. I really hope that in a few years down the line we get a new faux-Dodge Viper Sideburn mold (that could be used for his standard and super forms, as well as Universe Shadow Striker and Roulette as a 2-pack) and a Shadow Striker without the exposed engine (that could be used as her pre and post accident paintjobs, as well as Nightracer as an homage)

This is definitely one of those "I like it, but I completely agree it's not a good thing", like my continued preference of the Earthrise Vanettes and their roof shields. Admittedly, I have no attachment to any form of Shadow Striker, seeing as how I sadly did not get too exposed to Cyberverse. So, in that sense, I have no problems that this Shadow Striker is basically the Universe toy dolled up into the more familiar Cyberverse incarnation and am happy enough to want to go for this, but I can see how this extreme leaning towards her basically being an obvious pretool for Side Burn isn't very praiseworthy. Could've been worse. Could've been Road Rage, given the problems with the Tracks mold. At least she's a good fembot figure, a far better shellformer, and my 2007 Fracture, aka Crasher, needs a fellow Deceptibitch to raise hell on the road with.

@@Gei4Mei Other then the large rooftop shield on his left arm and some slight articulation hinderance by his front bumper on his right arm, the OG Sideburn is still a very good figure. I think Legacy should focus more on characters that either never good a good enough toy, or one's that had some articulation hinderance, like ones from Armada or Energon. Man I wish those Legacy figures didn't have the Minicon functionality hindered, I see based on the Armada Wheeljack mold they're doing the reverse, having the Minicon have a post that slots into a hole. Maybe a third part group if they havn't yet can make a bunch of extra minicon port pegs you could insurt to make the new figure compatable with the old Minicons.

I think it's because of the Cyberverse Shadowstriker looking quite a lot different than her "OG" counterpart that makes this decision a bit too jarring. If only some 3rd party companies or some dedicated 3D designers would make the proper Cyberverse Shadowstriker upgrade parts, be it 3D printed or a proper injection molded one, to replace dem chest and limbs (if possible). And it would've been even cooler if she was compatible with the Legacy Junkion Weaponizers. Them not giving her the ability to swapping her legs with some random Weaponizer robots, just like her Cyberverse lore, is a missed opportunity.

1:17 I saw that at a TFcon maybe 4 years ago and they wanted like $70 for it with box and everything and I was stupid enough to not buy it. I still regret that. Same for a reissue G1 Predaking that the guy wanted only like $60 for it boxed. They're not KOs as far as I could tell but it's those "I want them gone" sales.

On my copy her left arm doesn't have the metal pin that keeps the arm attached. It pops of really easy because of that. I like the boob option thow. Going to do it to mine now.

@@Gei4Mei it functions fine just got to be a little carful. At fist I thought it was supposed to do that. It is 5mill at the shoulder so I can put a blast effect in it and have her holding the arm. It is also giving me custom ideas to have a different arm.
