Hi Tom, the reason the Walther .22 guns don’t have the slide proof mark below the ejection port is that, as the slides are thinner, the marking distorted the slide, so they moved the mark to a more solid part of the slide to avoid this. As you say “only in the thinner .22’s. “ Great video btw.

I collect .32 ACP/7.65mm pistols and I know (thanks to Ian Fleming) Walthers are quite desirable. But I cannot afford those I have seen. But I did find a Manurhin PP with all the Walther patent markings. They haven't been quite discovered yet. (Perhaps I shouldn't mention that variation.) Both these are historical significant or at least interesting.

A question, a Walther PP crown N, number 129176 P only in frame, is it from 1939? Were they used by the Germans in the War? Regards

If it is numbered on the bottom plate, they yes, most likely a Luftwaffe magazine
