I'm a 52 year old guy in Texas, and my hearing is a week from tomorrow on the 4th. Just never liked my name, never clicked with me. So since we are retiring abroad next year, seemed a great time to finally change it so everyone we meet, neighbors, new friends abroad, will only know me by my new name. Also, doing it now and in the US, seems a lot less complicated than doing it overseas. I think your name is beautiful. My wife and friends have been "testing it out" for a couple months to see if it fits me well, and I am very excited EVERY TIME I hear it ! ❤ I'm very excited to finally be doing this !!! @@IcelynOdette Just an update: My hearing went well and super fast this morning, and the petition was granted and the order signed !!! My new, now LEGAL name, is Marco Alexi Sierra !!! ❤️ Im super happy, though I think I probably looked a little silly crying as I left the courtroom.... 🤣

I am so happy you were able to change your name. I legally changed my name to Luciana and I changed my middle name. I am so grateful I did, it has made me so much happier. In my state instead of going into court, we have to do it via zoom call. It was a little awkward, but the judge told me that changing a first and middle name is more common than you think.

Thank you for the video! I’m thinking of changing my name. I’ve never liked my last name, and I wish I’d changed it when I was younger but I’m here now. I know it will be a lot of paperwork but I believe it will be worth it.

I legally changed my name but I’ve noticed some people at work who don’t like me insist on calling me by my old name which I’ve always hated. It hurts but I’m thankful for my new name.

I hope in time they can get better at it. Change is harder for some then others and some need practice. Don't stress others so much, stay focused on you!

Hello Icelyn, what a unique name you have! I have decided I will change my full name, as my first name caused more complications than my surname throughout my life, and just sick of it. And my first name makes no logical sense when I looked up it’s meaning. I have nothing against my surname, I think it’s wonderful for an English name but since my new first name will be Hebrew in origin, I decided I will drop my surname so that it flows. My fiancé is Jewish, his last name is Judkowski (pronounced Yud-kov-ski). I like the meaning and the ending -Ski reminds me of going skiing lol. So when I saw your video, I had to respond because we will both have names with a winter reference to it. With that being said, I will do full name change once I marry, then both my first and last will be complete. We name changers should have our own little community I think, that would be fun! 😊

I really enjoyed this video. In March 2023 I legally changed my first name to Luciana, and I changed my middle name as well. The names I was given at birth made me so unhappy, and I hated them for so many reason. I should have changed them sooner, but I am so grateful I changed them. It’s something I wanted for as long as I can remember. It definitely was a lot of work to get everything changed over, but I don’t regret it for one second. I am so much happier with the name Luciana, it feels as though it was supposed to be my name all along.

I have always wanted to. Ever since I went to camp as a little girl and we got to use camp names, I thought about changing mine. I never really liked it, it felt like a boy name... the list of reasons goes on. I think I touched on some more of them in one of my first videos. I got tired of thinking about it and since my kids were still little, I decided I should do it sooner than later. I know some in an adoption group who changed their names, the common census among them just wished they had done it sooner. I totally agree!
