NotePerformer is an artificial intelligence-based audio engine that works with Sibelius in producing audio playback. Unlike other sample libraries, the AI makes playback sound more life-like as if one is asking musicians to play with specific markings on the score. There is, as is expected with technology,, no true soul which renders NotePerformer incapable of performing the more beautiful, lyrical classical pieces.

Hey everyone - My second MIDI project with the Yamaha keyboard is Zelda’s Lullaby from the video game classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This lullaby tune has been stuck with me ever since watching a cousin play the game early on. It is one of the many ocarina tunes in the game that we had to manually play by pressing our Nintendo 64 controller. I don’t remember if my cousin allowed me to press the buttons but the process was fun. The lullaby is simple, innocent, and yet slightly sentimental. This project utilizes the ocarina, violin, cello, and glockenspiel for a transcription of the original. Therefore, the mastering and panning are also in consideration of the original mix. I do wonder though that if I added a nice reverb to the ocarina, what that would sound like. My next MIDI project continues on the Ocarina of Time as I do the theme to Kakarikk Village. I choose this tune because Kakariko Village (and Lon Lon Ranch) was such a peaceful place to be in. Even after my cousin beat the game, I would still revisit Kakariko Village and spend a good amount of time navigating around and listening to the music.
