I bought a new 2100 back around 1981-2 when I had a yarder strip to cut all log lengths. Nice spruce and white pine up to 60 inch DBH. My 045 Stihls just wouldn't quite pull a 36 inch bar and worked me too hard. Night and day difference! Only ran it about a week and went to running dozer full time. It sat in my garage for a couple years until I sold it. Wish I still had it now.

Hi Billy, Yes I would totally be interested in the muffle mods on the 572 for I have a brand new one never used that i will send in for mod. How do you compare your now fully modded 572 to your other huskies you have used in the past? I see you dawg down on the buck but at the same time I feel your monitoring or feathering the pressure applied. I have watched every video you have had made with the 572 including the Walker saw and listen, watch very closely to the saw and what chips its throwing. Where would you rank this saw Billy? I know there's different classes for the saws so I guess how would you rate against the 372 or one? Thanks for your time, Tate

That's the John Deere of chainsaws ! All the new stuff seems to rely on lots of RPM's Horsepower = Torque x RPM / 5,252 the old large saws just had allot of torque. 😀

that old saw is awesome would be neat if possible to see an actual compression reading on it as well out of curiosity i have a jonsereds 49sp i got a couple of months back almost brand new off of ebay it was a one owner saw and it had a reading of 195 psi i have to roll it over a few times before i can get a good pull on it to start it and it's a lot smaller saw i'm guessing the husqvarna would be even higher being a bigger saw

Have you used that amsoil saber oil that Ripsaw gave you with your 500i, l believe? If so, what ratio did you run it at? I use that oil and really like it, love it doesn't smoke once the engine gets warmed up. Ran it @ 80:1 in my bought-new echo commercial equipment for a couple of years. But have switched to 50:1 because oil is cheap and motors arent. The motors all looked great, so it was nothing to do with the oil that I switched. And Amsoil will thank me for buying more oil!

500i's are dime a dozen as long as you got the $$$$ to buy it, NOS 2100's are not dime a dozen. Ok now i gotta get my 2100XP out and take her for a spin, she been up for years now. Just watched a Walker 2100 video got me itching to run her. Mines 404 also, ungoverned, so much compression i can barely crank it, i got 2 bad shoulders from my years of construction and multiple wrecks from racing karts, bikes, 4 wheelers and drag cars....

Always interested in hot rodding. Grew up in the muscle car era and hot rodded a number of them. It's interesting to see what you do to the exhaust on the power saws. Now, do you have to break in that 2100cd? From what I saw (almost a play on words) the 2100 did not seem to cruise thru the timbers you were cutting. Am I wrong? Also it has a very strange exhaust sound. Almost like it was going thru a can with a spring in it. I've never heard one of your saws sound like that. Of course I'm sure you'll be building a new header for that one also. Can't wait to see it run once you've done your magic to it.

Respectfully, I believe the reason the 572 is often compared to the 500i is that they are very similar in weight, and physical size (the 500i being slightly lighter) while the 500i also has a larger cc engine than the husky. Not trying to put the 572 down at all they are a very well made saw.
