The Sanctuary of Our Lady Lourdes is the second most visited Catholic shrine in the world with around 600,000 visitors each year. Covering 52 hectares, it is one of the biggest Christian complexes ever built. It includes the Grotto of Massabielle, where the Virgin Mary appeared, 15 pools, a church, three basilicas and the 1,500 meter long Stations of the Cross. This program examines how each of these structures was built, as well as the technical challenges and difficulties of building a complex large enough to accommodate so many believers.

Thr closing remark in this film is shockingly ignorant and blasphemous: for only God is WORSHIPPED, not saints: they (as well as icons, the Evangelion etc) are VENERATED. Words are important. I am Orthodox but I believe I speak for our Catholic brothers and sisters also.

@@reb2322 following the story of creation, humans are created last. there is no religion. god and religion are mutually exclusive and do not overlap. when he created humans, his work here was finished. if he were to look back on this world he created, he would be filled with horror at all the blood spilled in his name. he'd destroy every human in an instant to save what he created. when humanity swelled in population and started living communally did the need arise for a human construct to manage one another, the use of fear of something that cannot ever be proven through beautiful but frightening stories. nothing drives compliance with oppressive tactics than fear, and so religion became the great weapon and tool to keep masses of humans under control, coupled with the fact so few could read and even fewer write. the human condition was simply accept what was being told to them as truth for they didn't know better. manipulating behaviors through the use of fear is unique to our species, as is the conscience, the ability to chose one thing over another rather than act on instinct alone. if we acted on instinct alone, there would be no cathedrals, basilicas, no mecca, no Jerusalem, pagans would be pagans, no wars to convert, no pope constantine and no bible. That's what i believe today. after watching religion destroy my family and the countless scandals of sexual abuse across many faiths and cult like religions, which is a one party act, an act of violence. no one can convince me god would not only be ok and look the other way, that he'd sanction it and allow it to be canonized, allowing hi ranking cardinals to be relocated from city to city, preying on a new batch, only to end up in a powerful position serving at the highest levels and having the ear of god. if that were the case, it would be a pretty weak god and not worthy of our attention or devotion. that alone gives me great faith in the separation of between god and religion. if god wanted human compliance through a narrow view of his way only, we would not have a conscience, no power to choose. religion is solely the realm of man by man to control man whereas god is the realm of the spirit, the fire within us.

No where in the Bible does it say Mary was born without sin, nor the Mother of God. God doesn’t have a mom. Seek the Lord Jesus Christ. I saved me, and He Will save you.

The title of Mary which is the mother of God does not speak of Mary's capacity to born a God of her own will but assert Jesus nature of being God, if you are not familar with the context of the bible during those times then poor you. Don't read and understand the bible based on the present condition
