1:25:00 The Settlements in ME2 are so much larger, nicer, and more authentic than in Rome 2 or Atilla :-( Why did they replace large walled settlements with small settlements who's walls stop next to a hill from which enemies can shoot into the settlement? Like the opposite of how settlements were actually fortyfied....

Because Medieval 2 (and Rome 1) was the pinnacle of the Total War franchise. Shogun 2 stands out also, but everything after that was pretty bad tbh.

@Iedy Iedy But every city you see in Rome 2 (and Atilla) ARE capitals. They're the capitals of their province. They're the largest and most important settlement in that province. In my opinion you should be able to build walls in every single one of them. For the most historically important cities such as Rome, Athens, Carthage, etc. you should be able to build the highest levels of walls that take a long time to starve into surrender and have lots of defences (ballista, boiling oil and whatnot). For the others you should be able to build up a medium wall, and for the cities that really weren't vitally important or well known you should still be able to build at least something to make the enemy wait a few months to build siege equipment.

@17:00 if a region has got a flashflood, you are unable to build forts or towers (it´s a kind of vanilla bug - remains for some turns). so i think the regions got flooded at some point. If the guy was german (like the campaign) then KET mean: "Ketchup und Wurst" - the east german invention of a hotdog

question could there be campagins that are modded that would work? also in order to get gunpowder artillery you need all the lower levels of the siege workshop and I usually go in to battles with artillery anyway for extra range power. and yes I found out that catapults and trebs can't fit though gates but I think a ballista could but deffentlly gunpowder artillery can fit in there though I think it has to be a certin type.

You're a convential guy, you've found a model that works, why change something that already works? I agree, to some extent, but you also have to work on experimenting. I think, if you allow for some stable mods, like Divde and Conquer, you'll get a lot more novelty and excitement. I like Medieval 2 Total War. It's my favorite game, but as you said, getting the same Early General Bodyguards, Spear Milita and mailed knights over and over again across the same European map gets repetative in the long run. Imagine 3 months from now, what kind of video do you think's going to attrack viewers? My personal preferance is Deus lo Vult, Divide and Conquer, and The Italian Wars, which rarely if ever crash when installed correctly, but the main point is to not get stuck in old tracks. Experiment.

@@dudeofstuff Shit gets old after a while. I'm not telling him what to do with his business. Legend playing medieval 2 with the same stuff, over and over, gets old. That's the reality of the situation. The antidote is to bring some chaos into your world, experimenting. Maybe mods isn't the best strategy, I'm not running a channel of my own, but everyone can tell it's better than being completely passive. Even Legend admit to that fact in this video.

It’s good advice, even if he doesn’t listen to it (which I think he won’t). There’s so many different mods, many of which completely overhaul the entire game. It would essentially give him unlimited disaster campaign content. Plus, getting to check out new maps, factions and maps with Legend playing would be sweet. Stuff like Grand Campaign would be a good place to start, perhaps.

Hey, Legend, a bit of advice, as you said, you hate when people say you what to do, but that is just a suggestion: I guess you could make title like, SYD in the beginning, then short abbreviation of the TW game and finally the name itself. Something like that: “SYD-M2 “You won’t save that””. Kinda helps to understand, because when you watch it on phone for example it shows your titles like “Saving your disaster...” and that is it. I guess the shorter the better. Oh, and actually that would be nice of you if you could throw a title on the video preview image. Thanks:)
