jmhellison i got mine 18 months ago, 146k miles now and this is a quick cost review: SC pulley: 700 dollars (done at dealership thats why so high otherwise it would be like 50) Spark plugs and wires: 350 Both front air struts: 1200, did the job by my self SBC break failed: free of charge replacement by MB, its under extended 25 year warranty by MB usa My A/C is working weird, not very cold air, and air flow speed oscillates randomly or stops completely for no reason Estimated cost: 140 to 500 without labor Regular oil and filter changes So about 166.6 dollars a month i dont think is that high considering that most of the cost is for the airmatic that lasted 146k on originals, thats a lot

Absolutely awesome video. Your video solved a big mystery for me. I bought a Chrysler Crossfire that had been converted to an SRT-6 supercharged engine. It has a heck of a rattle at idle but I couldn't figure where the rattle was coming from and suspected there might be something wrong with the supercharger. I ran a stethoscope all over the engine and couldn't hear anything, I changed the pulleys, water pump, and alternator and added a pulley saver kit from Needswings. The rattle is still there and then today I watch your video and you explained that is normal with a fixed pulley. My car is a 6-speed manual and when the conversion was done they must have programmed the SC pulley to be on all the time. Now it all makes sense and I know there is nothing wrong. You made my day!

Wow! No joke- Those nice, clean billet pulleys really do make the "underhood" area look great. And yes, I've seen a few guys (on KZbin) heat up that pulley, too. ....AND I've seen one guy on here go a step further when he replaced the front bearing on the blower: He put the bearing into the oven and the other, pulley nose part, into a cooler filled up with Dry Ice. After waiting a few minutes for the temperatures to get steady, the bearing slid right onto the pulley nose without any issue. It was pretty cool to watch.

I suspect the rattling is the backlash in the supercharger gears. Tiny fluctuations in idle speed means the engine is constantly speeding up and slowing down over small periods of time. At idle there is little to no compression load on the supercharger to take up the backlash so it will rattle.

I own an SRT6 with the m112k motor. I know there are a few differences besides the two extra cylinders. Lol But its a general understanding that you shouldn’t run fixed pulleys on the M112k engines. However I’m not sure if that is founded on any fact. For a long time no one really tuned the SRT6s to any degree other than intake and exhaust. So most owners are looking to keep them OEM. So could be driven by that. I am curious how your E55 with the m113k hold up on a fixed pulley. I agree with another poster that it would be cool to see you tune and work on a C32 or an SLK32. Would gain a lot of tips from you. 👍 love your Channel.
