Thank you James for the history lesson with all this as well! This is awesome!! Love the idea of combining 6080 and 6081, I’m gonna have to try that!!

I like the brief history lesson with visuals. I'll show my nephews this and I it's a great way to get them into history or at least understanding the lego sets. 2:00 the music was slightly too loud

The set looks nice when you combine it with other sets, but as a standalone set it is horrendous with the low walls on the left side of the door… it makes the set look incomplete

Ya…. Compared to the next raised castle set 6086…. This set seems a bit missing something… maybe if they combined the styling of the the Guarded Inn set with this would have improved it a bit

Also, keeping the castle walls low allows you to access the interior, like the ramp and the courtyard.

This castle looks very unfinished to me. I would add a lot to it. At least it is a good starting point. By the way, a moat is a ditch outside the castle, the motte is indeed the hill, but I believe it is pronounced with a short O. Like the butterfly.

Thanks so much for the help with the pronunciations, etc! I can only learn so much form "wikipedia". And I agree, looks a little like they build the basic walls but stopped short of really adding the finishing details. It is interesting to me that the 6086 Black Knight castle seems so much more complete and was released just a couple years later.
