This was amazing. Thank you for sharing. This is my childhood fantasy come to life. If only there was a Blacktron Base in orbit around it.

I am frankly blown away by the detail and awesomeness of this creation! I too love Legos, and I cannot say enough how much I appreciate the skill that must have gone into this. Amazing work indeed!!!!! One can never be to old for Legos so long as one still has fingernails capable of separating bricks!!

If you redesign, you might as well make the drawbridge historically more accurate. The beams parallel to the bridge would extend inside the castle and have counterweights attached to them (and sometimes provide another gate behind the drawbridge that would be against the ceiling of the gatehouse when the drawbridge was lowered). That's the way these drawbridges were moved, because with a windlass you can only move comparatively small weights easily.

As a high school student a teacher told me about a castle he visited that was against a mountain and held under invasion for months until the king was killed on the tower potty 🚽 by an archer! Apparently there was a secret passage in the mountains to get supplies...

This is /super/ cool. I'm a huge LEGO fan, my first job was even working for LBR. But it's especially cool hearing that this was built with a D&D campaign in mind because I've been doing essentially the same thing in Minecraft. Very, very cool to see it done the old fashioned way.

You should connect the river that's on the left side of the castle to the pirate mock your building. Just an idea though :)

Captain X you could use the spike in the middle of the wizard tower as a trap door of sorts that can open and close for display.

What are the approximate dimensions of the castle (Including the rock beneath it)? I am very interested in building one using the scale you used. Thank you.

If your going to build more stables remember if they have wooden stalls put something that looks like metal on top so the horses don't crib it's a really bad and unhealthy habit

Very similar. The village is bigger and there is more room along the sides. I have upgraded the walls considerably and someday I will find the time to update the interiors.
