@@micabryant4513I think that depends on the reliability of the connection. You would need at least three, better four motors, distributed evenly across the train, and they all have to run at about the same speed, otherwise the train will derail in the corners. If you have some motors that received the signal and others didn't, some run at 3 and others at 7, I think you could run into problems.

Really like the cab to passenger car mod! That makes a lot of sense to me and brings it more in line with the white train design! The way that they raced each other on the track makes me think that maybe the white one's design is just a bit more aerodynamic and leads it to gain a bit more speed, especially as it gets closer to the other one by drafting (just like race cars do!) and hence why you have to adjust frequently lol I do want to see a derailment, but at the same time I feel like it could be soooo messy in your city!

Their rooftops would be scraping those overhead power lines, LOL!

A derailment will happen by a corner, when one train hits the other train and knocks the back of that other train off the track (presumably on its side) and then the back car will hit something alongside the track, detaching the magnets, and then the other train will hit it and get stopped when the back car hits something else, either pushing the engine off the track or just stopping because it hit the barrier of the back car, so finally the train that lost its back car will crash into it. I think you should remove the pantographs (those bits on top of the engines meant to make contact with overhead power lines) from your passenger trains. Firstly, there are no visible overhead powerlines in your layout for these to make contact with, and secondly, since both passenger trains have double decker cars, if there were overhead powerlines, the roofs of those cars would be making contact with those powerlines. The double decker cars are a cool creative touch, but would never be used for a pantograph train for the exact reason I mentioned. By removing the pantographs, we can imagine that these passenger trains are powered by some other means rather than overhead lines.
@RobinHoodBricks3 жыл бұрын
Well I think in a LEGO city we can forgo a bit of reality. I mean the cars have only one seat each after all. Double decker cars are fun and so are pantographs. Adding loads of wire will make the city too congested with poles etc so I think this balance is about right!
@Eidolon1andOnly3 жыл бұрын
@@RobinHoodBricks I agree about adding physical lines for the pantographs making everything too complicated. I know not everything is too realistic in Brick Nottingham. I thought by removing the pantographs it would be fun to imagine that these trains are successful APTs (Advanced Passenger Trains) and perhaps the only successful APTs ever built in the UK, which in itself is highly unrealistic. You should check out a channel here on KZbin called Mustard and see their video about the APT aka British tilting train. Just an FYI, the technical term for that style of "double decker" you chose to use is dome car.

on my 60197 train, I put Jacobs boogie on it, runs so smooth, maybe you should try it.
@RobinHoodBricks3 жыл бұрын
I've nothing against that but this runs smoothly as well and I'm always swapping the order around. Can't decide!

Hi there Robin Hood bricks! I don’t know if you will really understand this but I am the one who commented about a coustum buffet car for this train not realizing that it already had one (and I also own one) and a lot of other things! This is my alternate account! My other one got banned for some odd reason and this is me on an alternate one! My old username was ChrissPlayz but I later switched it to John apple seed for fun!

I think it’s better without the antenna like you mentioned with the express passenger train cab car video, that cab cars don’t really use antennas
@RobinHoodBricks Жыл бұрын
They can do. It depends on the train apparently. Anyway, I like a bit of variety!

@@RobinHoodBricks ya know when I do make my own cab car, I might just remove that grey/dark blue symbol, and have the whole cab car with windows and extra seating, like most german passenger trains I’ve seen since childhood, plus the wheels I would change the one where the motor use to be and and change it to a boogie and make the bottom part a little bigger
@Baconbs718 Жыл бұрын
the first car right next to the engine car doesn’t need a gangway to the engine like the intercity class 91 and then add a second cab at the back end of the engine car like the class 91

Very similar to my attempt. Looks good.

I would put both pantographs on the engine car. They should face away from each other. That would be more prototypical. Normally you don’t have pantographs on the driving trailer.
@RobinHoodBricks3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're right on there not being a pantograph on the back!

Hi robin It's not a cab car In the uk it's called a DVT Driving van trailer
@RobinHoodBricks3 жыл бұрын
That's a mouthful. I think I have to use a term that most people around the world, of all ages, will understand. Good fact though!
@Brick-Life3 жыл бұрын
Looks a lot nicer and how it should be. Not a fan of engine cars with only room for a driver.

Honestly, i thought that that lego train was based on the British Eurostar trains. It has the color scheme of the Seimens Valero Eurostar but the configuration of the older Eurostars. However, I guess the Seimens Valero has also been used for the ICE 3 trains of Germany (both of the Ice 3 train types are in fact from the Seimens Valero family). Besides, the Ice trains have the german long-distance trains color scheme. Which is white with are stripe. The lego set 60051 has a similar color scheme and in my opinion is based more on the Ice trains, mainly the ICE 3

Yes I think you're right!

For me, I call the 60197 the Legostar since it’s based on the Eurostar and I like your End Car, but I will remove the top pantograph
